Saweetie Wants to Get in the Studio With J. Cole

Saweetie said in a recent interview that she is interested in collaborating with him.

“Best Friend” rapper Saweetie sat down for an interview with Complex, where she discussed her upcoming ventures and music releases. The topic of J Cole arose, to whom she is a longtime fan and supporter. Several years ago, a video of her rapping for J Cole after a show before becoming a successful rapper surfaced online. She has since talked about how grateful she was for the opportunity to briefly showcase her talents and express her appreciation for Cole. Since the video has resurfaced, she has reaffirmed her support and appreciation of his music and latest album.

“He’s already so iconic to me but I guess like, the world didn’t know him like that yet.”

When asked if she still had an interest in collaborating with J Cole now, she said: “on production, yes.” Saweetie added that she did not think their individual styles would combine well on a track, with Cole’s hard-hitting flow and her fun and upbeat spirit. This does not mean her admiration for his music has changed, though. It is clear that since her video where she rapped for him, Saweetie has successfully developed her unique sound and talent in the rap game. We know she will continue to bless fans with her music. Additionally, a J Cole/Saweetie-produced track sounds like a potential banger we can get on board with!
