Travis Scott cannot keep the blows from coming, as he is again facing another lawsuit. But this time the lawsuit stems from two security guards.

Security Guards’ Grounds for Suing Travis Scott

Samuel and Jackson Bush are pursuing legal recourse, according to TMZ. Both guards claim mental and physical injuries from working the Astroworld event. And due to the anguish endured, they are due over $1millon in restitution.

Assigning Blame

An investigation is still underway as there is yet to be a determination on what led to the tragic outcome at Astroworld. However, many are reasoning overcrowding is a primary factor. As TMZ notes, overcrowding and crowd surges seem to be the cause from almost all fan accounts. While only 50,000 people bought tickets, there were many more in attendance.

Given this information, the issue of the legitimacy of several of the lawsuits comes into question.

Such as, is Scott responsible for the number of people let into the Astroworld event?

But rational explanations do not seem to play a significant role. Nevertheless, there is a lot of finger-pointing going on.

Since the cause is yet to be linked to any person or group, everyone affiliated with the performance is facing lawsuits.

Travis Scott alone is facing over 30 cases.

The Guards Lawsuit Casts a Wide Net

But in this case, the guards are not only suing Travis Scott.

According to TMZ

“The lawsuit is asking for more than $1 million in damages … and going after not only Travis, but Live Nation, AJ Melino, Cactus Jack Records, and others in the process.”

That is a lot of people. So where does it all end?

Plans Go Awry

Reports indicate a plan was in place in the likelihood of such events. Per Scott’s legal representative,

“The Operations Plan designated that only the festival director and executive producers have authority to stop the show, neither of which is part of Travis’s crew.”

So, doesn’t that alone free Travis Scott from culpability? Apparently not. Scott is still being held responsible.

The Issue of Employment and Causation

What responsibility could Scott possibly hold for the distress an external security team incurred doing their job?  Reportedly, the two guards were working security under AJ Melino and Associates. Unless Scott was a direct participant in the hiring, how is he to blame?

Well, perhaps he is not liable for their anguish or any of the other incidents.

According to Scott’s other attorney’s who spoke with Yahoo Finance

“The likelihood of Scott being held liable is slim to none. The law requires him [Travis Scott]  to engage in specific conduct that incited the incidents.”

A Sad and Tragic Story

Undoubtedly, it is sad that Samuel and Jackson Bush had to experience such a tragedy. As TMZ reports, Jackson says he witnessed CPR being performed on lifeless bodies and pulled a person from a crowd crush who ended up dying.

Agreeably, no one wants to serve as a witness to such.

But the question that one must pose is, is everyone suffering distress due to their morbid experience entitled to restitution? Or are the guards only deserving because of their role?

Travis Scott’s Saga Continues

Currently, Scott is doing his best to keep his head down and offer whatever help he can. According to sources, Scott has remained out of the public eye since the catastrophe.
