Sheff G taken into custody for second degree felony, DJ Akademiks posts on Twitter
Last Night DJ Akademiks went on Twitter and posted about Sheff G’s in custody. The rapper is reportedly “arrested for Gun Possession in NYC…remanded and will have to wait for a bond hearing to find out when he’ll be able to bail out.” Akademiks also posted information about the next court date, which is August 18th.
NY Post also provided further details of the incident. At around 5 o’clock p.m. EST, NYPD pulled over Sheff G at Farragut Road and E. 42nd Street. Court and police records show Sheff was supposedly “driving recklessly through East Flatbush without a front license plate.”
Court dockets and criminal complaints also have details of the arrest events themselves. While searching Sheff G’s vehicle, police found a .45-caliber Glock with nine rounds recovered. Eventually, Sheff had to face “three counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two traffic violations.”
Rapper’s attorney stated to the press they will defend “vigorously” with Sheff G. He refused to provide any further comment on the matter.
The bail set was $35,000. The rapper has posted bail since then.
