Slim 400 was born Vincent Cohran on June 21, 1988, in Frankfurt, Germany. The artist moved to the States as a kid. Pu$haz Ink music label discovered and signed Slim 400, once popularized by YG and DJ Mustard. In 2019, Slim sustained life-threatening injuries after attackers shot him during a drive-by in the artist’s hometown. The doctors treated Slim’s ten gunshot wounds before he left the hospital.

One Month Before Shooting, LA Radio Station Interviewed Slim 400

“I just feel like when you meant to be here, and God have a plan for you, it ain’t no stoppin’ it,” Slim said at the time. “I hit the ground thinking it was over. My family came out, kept me alive, talking to me, dragging me in the house while they still shooting…My family love her to death for just saving me. I just feel like I’m blessed just to be here ’cause I could have just died then and there.”

Slim 400 stated that he and YG would like to return to their neighborhoods and give back to the streets that helped raise them. Although, he recognized that some people might be jealous because of his visibility and success.

FMHipHop sends condolences to Slim 400’s family.
