Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo stepped down yesterday from his position and guess who’s after it now? Snoop Dogg ! After Costolo announced on Twitter his resignation and the appointment of Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey as interim CEO, Snoop Dogg started his own hashtag campaign after tweeting “Im ready to lead @twitter !! #SnoopforCEO”.

Twitter’s board of director’s don’t seem to be taking the rapper too seriously but Mashable and Wired quickly got on board with his campaign supporting him through a series of tweets.

Snoop also took to Twitter to show off his social media marketing strategy by having his 12.3 million followers use the hashtag #ifSnoopWasTwitterCEO to give their ideas for his job application.

Even actor Orlando Jones got involved in the campaign.

Recognizing the cultural import of #BlackTwitter @SnoopDogg to replace @dickc as new CEO of @twitter. The company will be renamed Twizzle.
