Snoop has jumped on board with a trending metaverse project. According to Snoop Dogg’s recent Twitter feed, he is venturing into partnership with “The Sandbox.” However, this is not your ordinary Sandbox. According to Business insider, “The platform [The Sandbox] is a decentralized gaming universe where people can sign up and create, share, or sell the NFT’s they create.” Given Snoop Dogg’s current NFT collection, this venture is right in his lane. Reportedly according to marketrealist.com, Snoop has about $17 million in Ethereum-based NFT’s.
New Edge
Metaverse is cutting-edge tech, as it is a blending of the physical and virtual world. Yahoo Finance contributing writer defines the metaverse as “the next mega-phase of the internet, a merging of the physical world with XR, AR, and VR that is just beginning to revolutionize the way we interact, work, and live. And the Sandbox can be found in that virtual space.
Snoop & The Sandbox
Snoop’s project will allow other Sandbox users to interact with him in the virtual space. In fact, there are several perks for those who sign up. For example, users have the unique opportunity to scoop up a “Snoop Dog Party Pass.” So, some lucky users can find themselves partying at Snoop’s (virtual) mansion. And that’s not all. Additionally, there is even the possibility of obtaining a plot right next to the Dogg father himself. According to Business Insider, “Come September 30, the Sandbox plans to host a land sale for vacant plots next to Snoop Dogg’s house in the metaverse.”
Snoop is like a rolling stone; he keeps it moving. Not only is he a hip-hop artist and rapper extraordinaire. Snoop is the consummate businessman. He has served as a tv personality and actor. He has owned a production company and stood as the founder of Merry Jane, a digital media platform. That’s not all. The Dogg father is also an investor, an NFT creator, NFT collector, and not to mention he has a personal brand of Cannabis products, according to a 2020 article of Film Daily. So with this venture, it’s just a different day but the same grind.
He does it for the fans.
Snoop clearly loves his fan base. And he was quick to acknowledge that even this new venture of his, is for his supporters. According to Business Insider in a statement on the project, Snoop has this to say, “I’m always on the lookout for new ways to connect with fans.” And on every level, he seems to do just that.
