STARZ Approves 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg’s “Murder Was The Case” Series

Yesterday December 13th, 50 Cent revealed his upcoming series involving Snoop Dog, Murder Was The Case, which has been approved by Starz Network.

50 Cent creates a series based on Snoop Dog’s 1993 murder.

50 shared a few months back that he wanted to bring light to Snoop Dogg’s 1993 murder case. Now, it seems that the series is finally making its way to television. HotNewHipHop reports, the executive producer of BMF has been debating over a show revolving around Snoop’s trial.  The story will focus on Snoop in regards to allegedly killing Philip Woldermariam, a rival gang member, who was actually killed by Snoop’s bodyguard.

“Murder Was The Case”: an “incredible” story

The rapper said in an Instagram post, “‘Murder was the Case’ is an incredible story. Snoop had the biggest album in the country and was fighting for his freedom in the courtroom, The only place to go on this incredible ride is with G-Unit Film & Television. I’m excited to be working with Snoop to bring it to television.” He added,

“This is going to be Bigger than OJ […] I mean @snoopdogg Bigger than Tropicana. I believe This will break all viewership records at STARZ.”

According to The Source, Fif will serve as an executive producer on the series, as well as Snoop Dogg.

Snoop’s wife Shante Broadus also has a hand in the production. Sara Ramaker from Snoopadelic Films and Anthony Wilson from Lionsgate Television will also be a part of the series.

Snoop shared his excitement about the upcoming series.

“I am excited to finally tell the story of ‘Murder was the Case’,” Snoop stated. “This was a pivotal moment in my life and career and I’ve deliberately waited until I found the right partner to bring this to the screen. You are now about to witness the strength of street knowledge.”
