Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton was the victim of a terrifying home invasion. Hours ago, it was reported that four suspects were taken into custody in connection to the robbery. The suspects, supposedly gang members, have allegedly committed over a dozen robberies.
A local news station caught up with Marlo Hampton, and she gave her account of the experience. She then told the station that her nephews were startled by noises.
“When I heard the boom, when I heard my nephew scream- and I knew that scream was a scream of fear- my heart dropped,” she said. The “boom” noise she heard was the robbers kicking in her door. As documented on RHOA, Hampton has been raising her nephews for years. She also stated that the suspects may have fled when she began screaming.
Hampton gave thanks for her family’s safety, but also issued words of warning for potential female robbery victims. “But my main concern is, I want all the ladies- I want everyone to be aware if you are posting, if you do have luxury items, be careful,” she warned.
The Sandy Springs Police Department also issued a statement saying they were able to stop the alleged suspects as “they attempted a home invasion at a townhouse occupied by the mother of one of the children of famous rapper Future.”
Atlanta PD investigates Marlo Hampton’s alleged robbers
The gang reportedly goes after high-profile celebrities, including athletes and social media figures. It was also reported that the gang was responsible for a break-in at Gunna’s home. According to police, the gang is responsible for at least 15 burglaries in the Atlanta metro area.
Atlanta police have been investigating the crimes for almost a year. The investigation started last October when seven suspects were arrested for a home invasion on Northside Drive. The Sandy Springs Police Department already suspected that Hampton could be a target before the break-in.
