Fans of Yeat may take a new interest in pole-vaulting after an exciting win for a world-renowned Swedish athlete went viral on social media.

A great song for a great win

Oregon rapper Yeat is gaining popularity by the day. With several viral TikTok sounds and a feature on the Euphoria season 2 soundtrack, the alternative artist is stepping into the spotlight in a major way. First America, tomorrow the world.

Earlier this week (Mar. 7) Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis broke his personal and the Olympic record at the European Athletics Indoor Championships. With a stunning vault of 6.19 meters, Duplantis easily walked away with the win and major bragging rights. Accompanying the triumphant win in the Belgrade, Serbia stadium was an unexpected rap song.

‘Money so Big’ can be heard playing in the background as Duplantis clears his vault. Being part of a global event like the European Athletics Indoor Championships is a privilege by itself. But being a part of a record-breaking win is just plain cool. There are currently several viral tweets showing the 22-year-old athlete’s vault and a YouTube video with over 50k views.

Many of Yeats fans jokingly gave him credit for the winning performance. Of course, stan Twitter is passionate about their fave as always.

The machine behind Yeat

Neither Yeat nor Duplantis has commented on the situation. Clearly, the Portland rapper has an extremely dedicated following. Last month (Feb. 21) Yeat was forced to cancel a listening party performance after the venue sold too many tickets. A riot subsequently occurred outside The Roxy Theater, resulting in LAPD being called. According to ABC7, approximately 1,000 people swarmed the theater that night.

Tiktok has been instrumental in the Midwest star’s rise to success. In the past year, ‘Sorry Bout That’, ‘Get Busy’, and ‘Money so Big’ have gotten huge on the video-based app.

Yeat released his second album 2 Alive last month to a great reception. It included features from ATL icons Young Thug and Gunna in addition to having a top 5 debut on the Billboard Hot 200. Almost effortlessly, Yeat has made himself a part of the modern rap conversation.
