The legacy of Hip Hop legend DMX continues with the new “Exodus” album

Famed producer Swizz Beatz dropped a huge announcement about the first X posthumous LP.  Exodus will come out May 28th via Def Jam. It’s been nine years since we last had a project from DMX. He without a doubt made an impact on the charts and the scene. During the late rappers’ time at Def jam with his first five albums, between 1998 and 2003 they all went platinum.

Here we are 18 years later with another DMX effort fittingly under Def Jam, for the first time since his fifth sequel from 2003 Grand Champ and the next sequel to his 2012 EP Undisputed. The cover art is from the classic Jonathan Mannion DMX photo collection going back to the “It’s Dark & Hell Is Hot Days”.

The brotherly relationship between Swizz and DMX over the years was noticeable for everyone to see whether it was on a record, live shows, concerts, interviews, and behind the scenes. Swizz Beatz’s influence on DMX’s career was immense. Recently the Ruff Ryder’s hitman spoke to the press saying;

“My brother X was one of the most pure and rare souls I’ve ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure. This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”

Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and Jadakiss have also promoted the upcoming album on Instagram as a tribute to DMX.

RIP King.
