SZA Responds To Drake’s Dating Claims On “Savage Mode II”

On Sunday, SZA (@sza) reacted to Drake‘s (@champagnepapi) dating claims in the song “Mr. Right Now” from 21 Savage’s Savage Mode II. Drake claimed they dated in 2008, and SZA confirmed the fact by responding on Twitter that they dated the following year.

So It was actually 2009 lol 🙃.. in this case a year of poetic rap license mattered 🥴lol I think he jus innocently rhymed 08 w wait . Anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm.. it’s all love all peace 🤝💎💫 .

In the song, Drake raps “Yeah, said she wanna f*ck to some SZA, wait, ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.” Fans were skeptical of the timeline being correct, because in 2008 SZA would have been 17 years old, meaning their relationship was illegal. SZA clarified that she was in fact of age by responding to her own tweet, shown below.

Fans pointed out that SZA unfollowed Drake on Instagram shortly after the release of “Mr. Right Now”, but it seems as though the artists carry no hard feelings towards one another.
