Lil Baby Doesn’t Bother With The Atlanta RICO Charge Trend: “Only God can Judge Me”

4PF is currently under the spotlight for its incredible talent and checkered past. How is Lil Baby handling the rising pressure?

Lil Baby Keeping Calm

Lil Baby had an interesting interaction with a fan on Twitter recently. The “All In” rapper spoke on his desire to create an investment group specifically for black moneymakers. “I’m trying to start an investment group for the young black millionaires,” he typed. “We can run the world if we play it right !”

Amongst the many replies, One Twitter follower took an unexpected approach. “Man you better be [eyes emoji] out for that rico everybody keep talking about,” they said.

Lil Baby had a swift and unconcerned response. “Only god can judge me”

Indeed, there have been rumors of record label 4PF being next on the chopping block for RICO charges. RICO, Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, is a piece of federal law specifically meant to take down criminal organizations. The fan’s concern isn’t that far-fetched. In May, Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 men associated with the label YSL were arrested on such charges. The RICO warning has some validity, with 4PF similarly being an ATL-based rap group with documented police run-ins.

Big Changes

Of course, Lil Baby isn’t publicly panicking. But when looking at his most prominent team stars, both are currently in some hot water with the police already. Rylo Rodriguez went under arrest last year after violating his probation for some prior firearm and drug possession charges. The 28-year-old spent over a month in prison with no bond before his October release. In the same token, labelmate 42 Dugg was arrested this year for failing to serve a six-month sentence. The court found the “We Paid” rapper guilty of firearm possession last November and simply never reported to the federal prison. Now, he’s facing up to five years.

The District Attorney from Fulton County, which includes ATL, recently confirmed that more RICO cases are coming. Fani Willis, famous for her no-nonsense attitude, told an interviewer that 2 more cases would appear in the next 60 days.

While she didn’t provide explicit details on these cases, most are assuming they’re also rap groups. Georgia prosecutors have shown they’re not afraid to use song lyrics as a smoking gun, so artists might have to tread lightly for now.

#FMSpotlight-Noodah05 – “Breathe” (Listen)

Noodah05 exposes the true nature behind backhanded compliments and certain people’s presence in his life via “Breathe.” Over a combative Chi Chi-produced trap beat, the rapper drops a line of warning bars toward those who “say hatin’ sh-t in a laughing way.” Noodah05 also addresses the backlash he’s received from unknowingly sleeping with a taken woman. Despite specific people smiling in his face, Noodah doesn’t forget how they treated him before the fame.

In one line, he even spits, “You ain’t f-ck me good until I ranned up my money, yeah/They only call my phone when they want somethin’, huh.” Additionally, Noodah05 says, “I ain’t forgot about nothin’, I still don’t want that boy to (Breathe).” Moral of the story: One can always forgive but never forget.

In the second verse, Noodah describes how his superwoman makes him delirious. Following this, Noodah05 speaks about the kind of women he’s attracted to.

Freak, kinda classy, p-ssy good, she sassy/And she got on lavish, expensive habit, bad b-tch,” he raps. “Too piped for the average, don’t play games like Madden.”

The 4PF signee begins to take a trip down memory as he speaks on everything that transpired the year before. Baffled by disloyalty from someone he once considered a bro, Noodah spits

Yeah, that last year had me hot, bro hopped out shootin’ that b-tch with anger/Can’t believe that you got robbed, then went in court and point your finger (B-tch).”

Throughout “Breathe,” Noodah05 maintains a steady flow.

“‘Breathe'” is about me separating himself from the clout chasers and transactional relationships that I’m surrounded by,” he says.

#FMSpotlight: Chalynn – “What You Do” (Listen)

4PF signee Chalynn details the immense adoration toward a lover who has “a hold of her” in “What You Do.”

Her passion is mirrored by not only the lyrics but the bedroom R&B production as well. Throughout the three-minute and eight-second record, Chalynn sustains an airy range.

At the beginning of “What You Do,” the “Summertime” star questions her beau’s magnetism, adding that it’s something she enjoys.

It feels like you have full control over my body/I won’t fight it,” she sings. “I think I like it/So tell me baby/What you do to me.”

As the song progresses, she admits that he’s put her “in a trance.” The songstress elaborates on this sentiment by vowing to give her all to him. Chalynn takes it further by building on the “head-over-heels” tagline.

Mind blown how you do that/Hop in the driver’s seat of my mind/You got a hold on me/Something about you that I want/Something about you that I need/Everything about you is new to me,” she croons.

Before “What You Do” comes to a close, Chalynn reiterates that she’s reveling in this unconditional love. She dedicates her heart to him, saying basically that the ball’s in his court.

I like it like it/I just might let you check me/Promise I won’t fight back/I usually don’t do this/But with you, I feel comfortable/I just want to let you know/Its all yours if you want it to be/Oh you got me.”

The song is accompanied by a sensual black-and-white themed music video. Her silhouette-like movement throughout the visual conveys vulnerability, passion, and romantic desire.
