Rihanna Goes Undercover at NYC Protest Against Asian Hate

Singer Rihanna blended into a crowd in NYC for the Stop Asian hate protest.

Rihanna and her assistant Tina Truong appeared at the rally masked this past weekend. Most people had no idea that Rihanna was there. However, someone decided to ask Ri for her Instagram account and shockingly discovered who she was.

Rihanna is known for taking a stance in what she believes in.  She is one of the most popular celebrity advocates and humanitarians. Ri wrote a caption of her feelings in response to the Atlanta shooting.

what happened yesterday in Atlanta was brutal, tragic, and is certainly not an isolated incident by any means. AAPI hate has been rampantly perpetuated and it’s disgusting! I’m heartbroken for the Asian community and my heart is with the loved ones of those we lost yesterday. The hate must stop. #ProtectAAPILives

The hate crime rally was in response to a shooting that occurred in Atlanta a few weeks back. This shooting resulted in 8 deaths of which 6 were Asian women. The suspect, 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, was taken into custody later that day. We certainly hope to see a change in society after this incident.

Megan Thee Stallion donates $50,000 to Atlanta Shooting Victims

Megan Thee Stallion and Fashion Nova show their support to the Asian Community after the deadly attack.

Grammy award-winning rapper Megan The Stallion announced on Sunday afternoon that she and Fashion Nova will be donating $50,000 to a non-profit called “Advancing Justice Atlanta”. The non-profit’s policy states “We defend, protect, and advance the rights of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, Native Hawaiians and other immigrants at all levels of government.”

Before announcing her partnership, Megan wrote a heartfelt message about the shooting on Instagram.

‘I am heartbroken by the loss of eight individuals taken from their families on March 16 in a senseless, violent attack against Asian Americans.  We stand in solidarity with all Asian Americans in saying that enough is enough. #StopAsianHate #StandWithAANHPICommunity

The horrific shooting occurred on Tuesday, March 16th, when a man opened fire at 3 different nail salons in Atlanta. This resulted in the killing of 8 people, 6 of which were Asian women.  A 21-year-old white male suspect has recently been arrested, Robert Aaron Long. Robert faces multiple accounts of murder and aggravated assault. Over 100 people marched in Chinatown and lit candles in Washington D.C. the night after the shooting.

Many people believe this shooting is related to a racist act against Asians due to the Covid19 virus. Prayers up for the victims and their families who have been affected of this senseless act.
