Zen Cannon’s Cancer
“I always noticed he had a cough, and so I wanted to check it out,” Nick Cannon shared about Zen’s cancer beginning stages. “He had this interesting breathing, and by the time he was two months, I noticed he had this nice sized head too — a Cannon head. We didn’t think anything of it. But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine.”
The family realized the seriousness of the disease once at the hospital. Zen Cannon was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, rare form of brain cancer.
The tumor was draining all the fluid out of Zen’s head. The Cannon’s child was only two months old and had to get immediate cancer surgery at the time. Zen soon got an operation, but his condition worsened over Thanksgiving.
“This weekend, I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and went to the ocean with him and Alyssa, and then I had to fly back to New York for the show,” Cannon also shared on the last days with his child.
Nick Cannon also paid tribute to Alyssa Scott, Zen’s mother, during the show.
“The strongest woman I’ve ever seen,” Cannon claimed during the talk show. “We never had an argument. She was emotional when she needed to be but always was the best mom and continues to be the best mom.”
In the end, Cannon dedicated his show’s edition to the late son.
