Here is the list of 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards Winners.
The Artist of the Year
Lil Baby is the artist of the year. In this nomination, he was best among Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, and others. Past year, the rapper has recorded a highly successful album with Lil Durk, participated in the Space Jam soundtrack, and much more.
The Best New Hip-Hop Artist
Yung Bleu has become the owner of the BET award for being the best new hip-hop artist in 2021. The other nominees included Coi Leray, Blxst, Pooh Shiesty.
After receiving the award, Yung Bleu gave out a short speech. He claimed, “We did this independent!” The rapper also has sent a shout-out to “Empire, Boosie, everybody, Alabama,” and more.
At the end of 2020, Yung Bleu released the ‘You’re Mines Still’ music video; so far, it has more than 170 million views. The rapper’s saddening yet romantic narrative of the ‘You’re Mines Still’ music video has eventually made him famous. So, later in 2021, Yung Bleu signed with Meek Mill and Boosie Badazz and released the Moon Boy album.
The Best Hip-Hop Music Video/The Best Song/The Best Collaboration
The best video and best song award go to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Their “WAP” music video (421M views on YouTube) outstayed Lil Nas X’s “Montero,” Drake’s ft. Lil Durk’s “Laugh Now, Cry Later” and other nominees. The song has done the same, winning over Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, and others. Unfortunately, ladies didn’t show up at the ceremony as they were “too busy getting bags,” according to Remy Ma.
The Best Hip-Hop Lyricist
This year’s lyricist nomination goes to J. Cole. He won in the competition with Lil Baby, Nas, Megan Thee Stallion, and others.
The Best Hip-Hop Album
