Soulja Boy Says New Rappers Must Choose Between Street Life Or Their Careers

Soulja Boy says the new generation of rappers can’t be involved in street life and be a rapper simultaneously.

The 31-year-old musician gave those words of wisdom to rising hip-hop artists in an exclusive interview with HipHopDX. The interview was about Soulja’s new REVOLT series called, The Life Of Draco. However, he made it his duty to point his fellow rappers in the right direction.

The topic specifically arose when Soulja was asked who his favorite new rappers are.

Soulja Speaks Truth To Hip-Hop’s New Generation

“I got favorite new rappers, but they be getting locked up,” he said.

Currently, there are more than a few rappers in jail. This group includes newcomers and those who have been in the industry for a few short years. Familiar names include New York’s Sheff G, Florida’s YNW Melly, and Tennessee’s Pooh Shiesty. Needless to say, the new crop of rap artists have been having a hard time with the law.

“Free the young talent, man. We got to keep our new talent out the streets,” Soulja said. “Every time I find a new rapper, they getting locked up. So free the young rappers, man. I know it’s hard in the streets, but you can’t be in the streets and be a rapper at the same time. You got to separate it.”

The “She Make It Clap” rapper grew up in front of a public audience since he was 17 years old. Naturally, he has plenty of experience to back up his sentiments.

Everyone’s Favorite Internet Rapper Tells The Facts

“To everybody that’s out there listening, man, if you want to be a rapper and take it seriously, you can’t have one foot in and one foot out, man,” he said. “You got to have both feet in, man. You know what I’m saying? A lot of people want to be in the streets and rap at the same time, which is what the people want because it’s our life story.

He expounded upon his statement saying, “…Once you get that chance where you can see that your platform is elevated from the streets now, when you got millions of eyes on you and you got millions of dollars in revenue, you got to switch it up.”

The 31-Year-Old Admits The Streets Are Addictive

Soulja concluded by saying that although it’s hard to stay out of the streets, one can’t be in it and expect to be successful in entertainment.

“So it got to be a point where you just got to get out the streets. A lot of artists want to stay in the streets, and it’s hard,” he said. “I would want to be in the streets too, but I can’t be in the streets and be an actor and be No. 1 at the box office. I can’t be in the streets.”

Big Draco’s new show Life Of Draco is scheduled to debut next Friday, Jan. 21. It has six episodes and shows Soulja as he continues to achieve new career goals.

Soulja Boy Goes Off on Kanye, Lil Yachty and Stunna 4 Vegas

It seems Soulja Boy never stops finding conflict. His most recent beef with Ye eventually ended in peace. Still, the “Crank That” lyricist still manages to get into various Ye-related altercations.

For instance, Big Draco recently blamed Ye after Lil Yachty removed Soulja’s part off of his song. Soulja ranted to IG live about the removal.

In the video, Soulja called out Kanye, Yachty, and Stunna for disrespecting then ghosting him.

“That’s three songs Kanye West, Lil Yachty, and Stunna 4 Vegas y’all got me fucked up. None of you rappers call my phone no more. Please. I’m begging y’all. Stop. Cause this shit is a slap in the face,”

One might ask why Soulja involved Lil Yachty and Stunna 4 Vegas in his conflict with Ye. Well, he would go on to explain just that.

“Kanye, this shit your fault! This shit your fault, Kanye, before this motherfucking, before this ‘Donda’ album shit, nobody wasn’t trying Big Draco like that. Now you got Lil Yachty sending me songs and taking me off the songs.”

“You got Stunna 4 Vegas sending me songs and putting the songs out with Big Yavo and SSGKobe. What is going on around here?”

Luckily, all three rappers soon made piece. After the emotional IG live, Soulja posted two follow-up stories.

In the first, Big Draco explained he had to wait for Lil Yachty to contact him. Still, Soulja let the world know that “Me and Stunna 4 Vegas is good.”

In the second story, the dramatic conflict finally found a logical endpoint. “Me and Yachty are good,” Soulja claimed, including  a “100” emoji in the end.

Soulja Boy’s Conflict with Trouble

Just two weeks ago, Soulja Boy threatened Trouble, shocking some of the Young Dolph’s fans. Soulja’s released his “Stretch Some” recent single the same day Memphis shooters killed Young Dolph.

Trouble questioned Soulja’s behavior in the tweet. Soon enough, Big Draco opened the conversation door with two legs and straightforward responses.

“That song been out, but what u wanna do n***a,” Soulja began in response. The rapper then claimed Trouble “sound tough as hell,” but only “on the internet.” “Fuck u talking about n***a. Police ass n***a,” Soulja concluded in a post, which someone removed later.

The conversation ended with a warning. “Bitch ass boy, you could be next @TroubleDTE,” Draco wrote.

Later, in an Instagram video, Soulja discussed the situation with the social media crowd.

“Big Homie dead, I’m supposed to be sad and shit like what the fuck n***a?” the rapper asked. “Y’all n***a lame, man y’all got me fucked up. Cause if that woulda been me, y’all n***a’s would have been laughing and shit and crackin’ jokes. There wouldn’t have been no rest in peace Soulja Boy.”

Soulja Boy Boasts About Making “$7 Million a Month” Amid Pandemic, Ridiculing “Broke-*** N*ggas”

It has been a rough couple years for most of us, but not for Soulja Boy Draco. The rapper and accused sexual assaulter just posted a story to Instagram making wild claims about his monthly and yearly income. While it is nice to see the joy that his success has brought Draco, the video is riddled with derogatory remarks directed at those who are less fortunate.

Soulja’s Questionable Claims

The video features Draco in what appears to be one of his tour buses. While speaking to the camera, Soulja showcases a massive stack of $100 bills and rattles off boasts about his income. He starts by saying that he makes $100,000 a day, a staggering amount of wealth. He then follows up by saying that he makes $2-3 million a month, which seems to check out. However, he concludes his video by boasting about making $7 million last month, which would require a tremendous leap in income. Draco would need to make more that $250,000 per day, which is well over the claim he made seconds before.

While it is clear that Soulja Boy is extremely successful, this rapid change in claims could indicate a degree of exaggeration. At least, this is how viewers commented on the video seemed to react. “Why do I feel like he lying ? Lmao 🧢,” states one commenter. Another more succinctly replies with just, “Cap 🧢.” Others chose to focus on his attitude during the video, stating, “[I’m] so tired of this dude.” Regardless of the specific comment, the majority of people seemed to react negatively to being insulted about their wealth. Strange, huh?

To be clear, it is absolutely fantastic that Soulja Boy has been so successful; it would just be nice if he could enjoy that without feeling the need to insult everyone else, particularly in the wake of COVID.
