Earlier this year, Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist sparked a firestorm of debate when they unveiled their Mount Rushmore picks for finest rappers of the decade: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Nicki Minaj, and now they’re aiming to do the same with producers. On Tuesday (August 17), RapCaviar lit the internet ablaze with their choices of Mustard, Mike WiLL Made-It, and Metro Boomin‘, but they’re leaving the fourth and final pick to the fans.

Pi’erre Bourne, Wheezy, Hit-Boy, and Boi-1da were named as possible choices for the final selection on the list of most-celebrated 2010s beatmakers in a follow-up tweet. “Locked in these top picks based on your responses,” RapCaviar tweeted. What producer do you have in fourth place?”.

Which producer will take the 4th slot on RapCaviars list?
“Lol, I opened the 2010 door for sure,” producer Sonny Digital said, referring to his own resume. One fan wrote, “OVO 40.” “He was responsible for some of the decade’s most iconic beats.”. With Drake’s popularity on Spotify, one of his right-hand producers like Boi-1da or OVO 40 would make sense as a natural choice. Drake made headlines when he became the first artist on Spotify to have 150 songs reach 100 million streams.
Drake’s 40-produced smash “One Dance,” which has been streamed over 2.1 billion times, is at the top of the list. In addition, “God’s Plan,” which has 1.7 billion streams, credited both 40 and Boi-1da with production credits.
Keep an eye out for the reveal of the fourth slot on Spotify’s RapCaviar’s Greatest producers of the 2010s when it releases soon!
