The Multifaceted Artist Cori Quinn On Music And Life

Rapper, singer, full-figured model, and author Cori Quinn, hailing from Washington Heights and raised in the Bronx, New York, is a versatile creative talent. From a young age, her passion for writing—whether it be poems, stories, or music—has enabled her to create with a sense of authenticity. The ability to write in different forms can truly expand one’s creativity. Growing up in the heart of Hip Hop, Quinn felt a deep connection with music. “My family was always playing music, or doing something of the sort and I found myself inspired,” she shared.

As a child, she sang in the youth choir, which sparked her curiosity about music and led her to explore her abilities further. Her love for music deepened, becoming a medium through which she could express herself and experience freedom.

After years of writing, she took her craft to the next level in 2016, releasing her debut project, *Calloway*, followed by *I AM HER* in 2017. Often, a craft is perfected when someone consistently focuses on a skill they enjoy. Quinn is a perfect example of someone who has achieved this.

In addition, the type of music an artist creates often reflects their maturity and dedication. “My music has grown because I’ve grown so much,” Quinn explained. “In the beginning, it was more fun and just me in the studio testing my abilities and finding out what kind of artist I wanted to be.” Now that Cori has experimented with different sounds and pushed her musical boundaries, she is confident in her signature sound and the message she wants to deliver through her music. “I’m still having a great time making the music, now I just know what my lane is,” she said.
