Quavo Shows Off Baseball Skills in MLB Celebrity Game

Quavo has more than just rap skills

It’s been an eventful All-Star Week for Major League Baseball. Surprisingly, one of the week’s standouts isn’t a baseball player. It’s none other than Quavo.

The Migos rapper was a participant in the MLB’s Celebrity Softball Game. Appearing alongside him were J.I.D, Steve Aoki, DK Metcalf, and more.

During the game, the rapper nearly hit a home run — pretty impressive for someone who makes a living on the mic. He shared the moment in an Instagram post, which has since gathered over a million views.

He’s no stranger to the sports world

Of course, Quavo is frequently connected with sports. Earlier this year, he participated in a basketball game with Lil Baby, Jack Harlow, and 2 Chainz. He also had a brief feud with Kendrick Perkins in the past months over his lyrics dissing the NBA player-turned-commentator.

The rapper has also gotten some interesting attention for his overall athletic prowess in the past. He’s shown off his ability to play basketball, football, and, as this article suggests, baseball.

Quavo is fresh off the release of his latest album with Migos, Culture III. The album hit #2 on the Billboard 200 with features from Drake, Cardi B, and Future among others.

Quavo Fires Back at Kendrick Perkins

It looks like the beef between Kendrick Perkins and Quavo is back

Migos performed at the Mayweather/Paul fight earlier this week only to meet mixed reception.  While they caught heat from all over twitter, it was Kendrick Perkins’ jab at Quavo that got the most reactions.

During their performance, Perkins tweetedI see @QuavoStuntin still dropping them trash a$$ bars!!! Carry on…”  Given the fairly poor reception of their performance, and general perception of Quavo, many thought this was a hilarious tweet.  Quavo, of course, did not.

He took to twitter to post “#Culture3 Friday” with a picture of Perkins with an emoji fist under him, resembling an uppercut.  Overall, a fairly clean reaction that not only fires back, but doesn’t call for further instigation.  It’s likely Perkins doesn’t respond to this, though many find his role in this situation to be immature.

The root of this “beef” actually comes from Quavo.  In his song ‘Fuck 12,’ he drops the bar “”Get no playin’ time, Kendrick Perkins.”  While we’re used to seeing players shortcomings get mentioned in songs, it looks like Perkins really didn’t appreciate it.  While Quavo was just making a fun bar, it’s fair that Perkins is mad that he name dropped him without them being friends.  On the other hand, it’s been a couple of years and it looks like Perkins is still just salty.

Do you think this back and forth will continue, if so, who’s side are you on?  You think Perkins will get name dropped again on Culture 3 because of this?  I guess we’ll find out on Friday!
