Behind the Headlines: Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson On Good Morning America

Curtis Jackson, “Fifty Cent,” appeared on Good Morning America on Friday, December 13, to discuss his latest documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs. Many looked forward to this update, but was it what everyone expected?

Down The Rabbit Hole

A video released in May showed Combs violently assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie, catching the public off guard. It wasn’t long before Diddy issued a public apology, acknowledging his behavior was inexcusable.

However, this was only a precursor to what followed. The public was stunned. Since then, the Diddy case has escalated, emerging as one of 2024’s most prominent topics, with developments snowballing daily.

Curtis Jackson Takes on Diddy

The scope of Combs’s allegations wasn’t the only surprising revelation. News that Jackson would spearhead a documentary on the artist was even more intriguing. With Jackson at the helm, it was clear it wouldn’t be boring. He was the mastermind behind some of TV’s most raw and gritty dramas like “Power,” “Raising Kanan,” and “BMF. ” So, as the media circus grew, people became more enthused to see what Jackson had to share.

Jackson on GMA (Good Morning America)

Finally, on Friday, December 13th, audiences got a bit more clarity on the project’s status from Jackson. According to Jackson, the project was much larger than anticipated, and as they dug deeper, more allegations surfaced. Jackson compared the findings to an octopus with its vast, complex tentacles. But that was not all the multi-magnate had to say on the topic. The mogul acknowledged that he never anticipated it would reach this extent, further stating that it wasn’t something anyone expected.

True Rivalry or Smoke and Mirrors

Curtis Jackson has long been rumored to be a rival of Sean Combs. The internet and social media have speculated about their supposed feud for years. Some have even speculated that this is part of what fueled Jackson’s decision to take on this project. However, when asked about it on Good Morning America, Fifty Cent clarified that there is simply a “competitive energy” between them—a professional way to describe tension or conflict for publicity or career advancement.

The Spiral

No one expected this documentary to be like the others. A Variety interview with Jackson and Stapleton confirmed this. As noted by both Jackson and Stapleton,

“This is a powerful story with far-reaching human impact. It spans over decades, not just the surface-level headlines or clips we’ve seen thus far.”

Given this project’s extensive scope, it is no surprise that it would take time to piece together. Approaching such a significant topic that sheds light on hip-hop culture and even Hollywood requires careful consideration.

A Ways to Go

The update met expectations. There wasn’t much to expect. It was reassuring to know the project was on track, but it would have been nice to know how close the project was to completion. Since that was not the case, it’s a matter of waiting and seeing for now.

Fifty didn’t hesitate to respond to the notion of a joint project. He made it clear that this was more than just a passing thought. Jackson expressed his thoughts, saying,

“There’s a big collaboration on the horizon with a sprinkle of Tyler and a sprinkle of 50. “

Expanding the Frontier: Legacy Makers

50 Cent’s Housing Initiative in Shreveport, Louisiana

50 Cent is taking his charitable efforts to the next level. The multi-talented entrepreneur has announced a new housing initiative in Louisiana that deserves attention and admiration.

In community focus groups, a major topic of discussion is the impact and influence of celebrities within their communities. Given the current social and economic climate, one common question is whether successful individuals are doing enough for their hometowns and the larger culture. While not everyone is actively involved, Fifty’s recent project shows that there are undoubtedly more people working to make a difference than the general public realizes. This narrative calls for attention and recognition.

50 Cent’s Much-Needed Contribution

According to Afrotech, 50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, plans to build homes in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jackson and his team have devised a three-part strategy, of which this is only one component. According to the growth advisor, their strategy focuses heavily on providing housing options for low- to moderate-income families. As stated in Afrotech,

“We plan to build homes and assist low- to middle-class families with securing mortgages.”

This type of assistance is critically needed in this community.

Housing Crisis In Louisiana

According to the NLIHC (National Low Income Housing Commission), Louisiana is experiencing a housing crisis that disproportionately affects low-income households. Many of these households are struggling to make ends meet, as housing costs consume more than half of their income.

Even more unfortunate, there is a shortage of affordable rental homes for extremely low-income households (ELI) who earn at or below the poverty guideline or 30% of the area median income (AMI). This makes Fifty’s initiative not only admirable but also necessary. This, however, is only one of Jackson’s contributions to his community.

On Motives

Some will argue that he is doing so because his production studio is located in Shreveport. As Afrotech also notes, “the Shreveport area is now home to the rapper’s G-Unit Studios, an extension of his G-Unit Films and Television company.”

So, his outreach could be a public relations strategy. It might be an image-building strategy.  Or strategically, it is simply good for business. Nevertheless, putting all of that aside, what is most important is that he is doing something. Regardless of purpose, the community is reaping the benefits. 50 Cent is essentially giving back to his community. Thus, it’s a win-win.

50 Cent’s Endeavor and Shifting the Narrative

It is a long time before publications globally give more recognition to the impactful work of individuals in the hip-hop industry, such as Jackson. His efforts to address the ongoing crisis, which affects so many people, are nothing short of praiseworthy.

Hopefully, more such stories will be published in the future, shifting the focus from asking why successful people are not giving back to encouraging more to follow in the footsteps of the shining examples who do.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Gets Release Date

Fans of the Power universe now have a reason to rejoice. Season 3 of the nail-biting urban drama “Raising Canan’s” return has been confirmed. And boy, oh boy, is it making the latter part of 2023 look scintillating.

Curtis Jackson (Fifty) Mesmerizes

50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, captivated fans when he showcased his directorial talent with the release of the crime drama “Power” in 2014. Although some held their breath reserving judgment, the relative success of “Power” proved Jackson had something special. However, building a reputation in the entertainment industry requires more than one project. And Jackson, a true power player, did not waste one minute cementing his skills, proving that his initial success was no stroke of luck. “Power” served as the catalyst for creating an entire universe, the “Powerverse.” Among the series that emerged within this expansive universe was “Book III: Raising Kana (2021).”

Power Book III: Raising Kanan

“Raising Kanan” was conceived as a spinoff to the popular series “Power,” designed to delve into the origins of Kanan, a character portrayed by Fifty Cent himself. Those who were “Power” watchers understood any spinoff featuring Kanan was bound to be drama-soaked and gritty. And Jackson did not disappoint the viewers. With a bombastic soundtrack, top-tier actors, and a rock-solid storyline, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” hit its mark.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan to Return

In the autumn of 2022, “Power Book II: Raising Kanan” drew to a close, leaving viewers with an adrenaline rush. The storyline had Raquel facing a coordinated attack, and Kanan was at a crossroads with one foot in the game and one foot out. Such made the anticipation for a third season undeniable. According to Deadline, the series will return to Starz on December 1.

Where it left off: A Prelude to Season 3

The family is in duress this time, and Kanan has much to consider. “His blinders are off, and he doesn’t like what he sees.” The secrets have led to fragility in the ranks.  So, respectfully, there is a lot at stake. As for plot drivers, According to Deadline, this season will revolve around themes of redefinition. This indicates significant changes are on the horizon. And unfortunately,

“They won’t all be able to complete this intensely personal quest. But the destination may reveal the most terrifying secret for those who do.”

With a tagline like that, there is much to anticipate in the upcoming season. It’s an undeniably promising outlook of intense drama and gripping storytelling.

Polishing Off the Details

Fans of Fifty Cent and the Power universe should prepare for a winter that promises to be hotter than ever. And it’s going down on December 1, at 8 p.m. on Starz in the United States and Canada. Mark the date.

Nicki Minaj To Take Part In Upcoming 50Cent Project “Lady Danger”

Nicki Minaj is about to polish off her acting skill for an exciting new project. Minaj has been tapped to feature in 50Cents’ upcoming animated feature, “Lady Danger.” And it’s certainly something that has interests piqued.

Fifty is a Boss

Fifty (Curtis Jackson) has had his hands in everything. When it comes to the television and film industry, it’s like a candy shop for the multi-media magnate. This time Fifty is delving into something a little different. His plan is now for domination in animation with the upcoming feature “Lady Danger.” And if this newest feature turns out to be anything like BMF, Power, or For Life, it’s a bonafide winner.

“Lady Danger

According to Deadline, Lady Danger is derived from the Dark Horse Comic Book Series authored by Alex De Campi. Lady Danger is set in the future, 2075, to be exact. The primary character is a resurrected field agent once thought dead. However, this revived agent of B.O.O.T.I (Bureau of Organized Terrorism Intervention) must hide her true identity as she takes names and kicks butt. Deadline describes Lady Danger as an

“afro futuristic a–kicking Agent of B.O.O.T.I.”

Such invokes imagery of what one might compare to a next-age “Foxy Brown,” which the masses can get down with.

Nicki Minaj, the Multi-Talent: “Lady Danger”

This is not Minaj’s first project in the realm of film/TV. Minaj portrayed Draya in the 2016 film Barber Shop: Next Cut. She also portrayed Lydia in 2014, The Other Woman. Minaj also has done quite a bit of work in animation. She voiced Steffie in Ice Age: Continental Drift, Pinky in Angry Birds 2, and Sugilite in Steven Universe. And now she’s taking on a take-no-prisoners persona, “Lady Danger.” One look at Minaj’s complete portfolio and her talent and business savvy are glaring.

What is Left to Say

The feature is currently in development, so there are no specific details regarding the release date. However, when those drops, FM Hip Hop has got you covered on the details. Congratulations to Fifty on yet another expansive project. And here’s to Nicki Minaj’s unimitable success in everything she has in her sight. Her light is truly bright and inspiration boundless.

50 Cent’s Collaborative Series “Vice City” Announced

March 9 marked the unveiling of 50 Cent’s newest “Vice City” project, a project that piqued the interest of many, including GTA (Grand Theft Auto) fans.

50 Cent’s New Announcement

50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, is back at it, again proving that he is the TV’s King Midas. According to a recent press release, 50 Cent, in collaboration with Lion Gate Television and Paramount Pictures, is working on a new series entitled “Vice City.”

GTA Fans Get Slightly Disappointed

The announcement of the 50’s new project excited GTA fans. GTA fans know a little about “Vice City,” a Rock City game released in 2002. And given the game’s plot, it was easy to see why fans felt a certain level of exuberance and anticipation. “GTA: Vice City” synopsis describes the plot as follows:

In the aftermath of a deal gone wrong that resulted in Tommy’s bodyguards getting killed and Sonny’s money and drugs being lost, Tommy decides to get vengeance on those responsible.

And Jackson’s earlier cryptic social media post fueled the fervor.

In the end, however, those hopes were crushed when it was revealed the new series, which will be called Vice City, has no connection to the game. As Game Rant notes,

“Sorry Grand Theft Auto fans, for those hyped by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson teasing an announcement involving “Vice City” it’s now been revealed the new project has nothing to do with Rockstar but is a TV project involving John Wick’s Chad Stahelski and Lionsgate Television.”

Jackson’s Vice City

While the announcement may have crushed some fans of “GTA,” the plot still looks extremely promising. According to several sources, “Vice City” is a series that will take viewers back in time. The series is said to be set in the ’80s, around the time of the Iran Contra Scandal. The primary characters have strong links to the scandal. As Yahoo notes,

“Vice City” will follow “three friends (former soldiers), returning to their home city of Miami in the mid-’80s after a dishonorable discharge from the military for involvement in the Iran Contra scandal.”

Surely there is no denying this reads like the opening to a killer drama.

Jackson, The Guru Of Drama

Considering what is known, there will be drama, lots of it. How could a Jackson piece be drama-free? The entire Power universe, formed under his hands, is rife with drama. In this series, the soldiers who have fallen on bad luck turn to a life of crime. They form the ultimate heist team. When ambition, money, criminal pursuits, and military skill combine, it is impossible to predict what will happen.

The Wrap Up

Currently, “Vice City” is in development, so it will be a while before its release. But until then, there is still much to look forward to from Jackson. As Yahoo notes,

“On February 14, 50 Cent announced he was partnering up with FOX entertainment on a non-exclusive broadcast deal to develop “scripted dramas, live-action comedies, and animated series.”

And in the interim, there is always “Power Ghost II,” whose season premiere is Mar 17.

BMF is an acronym for the crime syndicate family, the Black Mafia Family. The existence of BMF was no secret to many in the hip-hop community. However, Curtis Jackson re-introduced the BMF to a broader world through a 2021 scripted drama by the same name. By watching BMF, viewers gained exposure to the notorious “Big Meech” and “South West T.”

The dramatic account was undoubtedly worth its weight. The series was simply fascinating. “BMF” was such a success that it drove demand for a second season. According to the CEO of STARZ,

“Blowing Money Fast” Trailer

The recently released trailer gives fans a glimpse of what they can expect from the upcoming eight-episode docuseries. BMF promises a first-hand account of what Hollywood Outbreak is defining as.

“The notorious drug syndicate, the Black Mafia Family.”

Viewers can expect celebrity insider interviews from White Boy Rick, 2-Chainz, Curtis Jackson (50Cent), and T.I. Additionally, there will be insights from former BMF Members and family members. And audiences will follow the journey of the BMF founders from their days as corner boys to the end of the BMF reign.

Series Expectations

The series promises to be comprehensive, an all-access pass with, as Hollywood Outbreak notes,” an exclusive look at the epic family feuds, high-stakes drug deals, suspicious murders, and champagne-drenched parties attended by hip-hop royalty.”

Release Date

For fans who want a deeper look into the real-life account underlying the explosive Starz Drama, the docuseries will premiere on October 23. It offers the perfect opportunity for a deeper dive before the return of the series drama, which will air in January 2023.

50Cent (Curtis Jackson) Makes More than Good on Promise to Mo’Nique

In March, Curtis Curtis 50 Cent   Jackson went live with his support for Mo’Nique, and he’s been actively lobbying for her since. Reportedly Superbowl weekend, Fifty (Jackson) went to see Mo’Nique perform stand-up at a comedy club, and he was mesmerized. Jackson was so taken in by her talent that he immediately batted for her.  The serial mogul had this to say in a follow-up post,

“Went to see [Mo’Nique’s] stand-up show Superbowl weekend. Oh shit! It was so good; she had my ass in a trance. You gotta go check her out the shit was [fire].”

Jackson’s Integrity on Display

Today headlines confirm that 50cent is a man of his word. He isn’t merely waiting for someone to put Mo’Nique on. He’s leading by example. His recent post says it all,

“Guess who i got in BMF this season GOLDIE. GLGGreenLightGang I don’t miss, THE UNDER DOG’s BACK ON TOP.”

And that’s what’s up!

Jackson’s Leaves a Trail of Support

For months the press has been covering Jackson’s moves in Mo’Nique’s regard, and he has been unrelenting. Fifty not only made a public display of his support of the actress-comedian in March, but he put Oprah and Tyler Perry on blast. This is what the mogul had to say then,

“I’m sure Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry would not want to continue to allow their influence to damage @therealmoworldwide career, and this has went on for way too long,” 50 wrote on Instagram. So now would be a great time to apologize because I’m gonna put her back on. 🤔GLG🚦GreenLighGang 🎯I don’t miss!

He’s doing just that.

Mo’Nique’s Journey: We See You

Mo’Nique hasn’t been silent about her interaction with Hollywood after her award-winning performance in Precious. Despite her powerful performance, not all her actions set well with more powerful influences. As a result, Mo’Nique has contended she was blackballed.

The Hollywood reporter had a sit down with the actress in 2015. She was more than clear about the moment she realized it would be a while before she got roles in Hollywood again. She recounted her conversation with Lee Daniels,

“I got a phone call from Lee Daniels maybe six or seven months ago. And he said to me, “Mo’Nique, you’ve been blackballed.” And I said, “I’ve been blackballed? Why have I been blackballed?” And he said, “Because you didn’t play the game.”

It’s been a long road back.

Jackson Calls Out Cancel Culture

Jackson has taken the time to lift another artist and call out cancel culture. Undoubtedly, Jackson has a point.

It is time to re-evaluate cancel culture. As Fifty pontificated,

“We only suppose to cancel shit that ain’t good for the culture. We need you to WIN again now MONIQUE.”

Whether one is or isn’t a Mo’Nique fan, in this case, shouldn’t matter. Undoubtedly, Mo’Nique has done her thing. She’s put in the work and perfected her craft. Merit deserves fair recognition.

Kudos to Jackson for making a move. Congratulations to Mo’Nique. Now it’s up to her to get her shine on and actively demonstrate what she has spent years polishing.

50 Cent Is Adding A Live-Action Comic Adaptation to His Portfolio

When 50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, is in his bag, he is unstoppable.

Jackson, also known as Fifty, is a walking example of what a little creativity, grit, and ingenuity can do. A few days ago, mass media headlines read,

“50 Cent optioned Christopher Price’s Xerø for development alongside Color Farm Media as a live-action film for DC comics.”

This move is as incredible as it is unbelievable. So, at this point, the question becomes, is there anything Jackson can’t do!

Jackson The Expert Juggler

Undoubtedly, Curtis Jackson is a man of many hats and can flip them at the drop of a dime. The Get Rich or Die Trying performer is fully immersed in the entertainment industry. First, Jackson created an entire world around his hit original Power! Then, he branched out to other networks with significant projects in the works or slated to premiere at later dates. Now Jackson takes his panache into another realm, blending comic and cinematic magic. That is dope, hands down.

Jackson Steps onto new frontiers

Fifty is partnering with Color Farm Media and Joseph Illiedge to bring Christopher Priest’s Xero to life. While the upcoming film is an adaptation of a Priest comic rendering, for DC Comics, they will have no involvement in the movie. As a source notes,

While Xerø originated as a DC Comics property, rights to the series reverted to Priest in 2008, so the Warner Bros. subsidiary will not be involved with the project.

That’s perfectly okay because the hero’s originator, the legendary and trail-blazing creator Christopher Priest is on the scene.

Xero

The collaborative believes this is the best time to bring Xero to the masses. Illidge, who is part of the production collaborative, said this of Xero’s introduction,

“Xerø is the perfect action hero for our times in a story of equal parts James Bond and James Baldwin.”

That sounds massive. Remarkably we’re talking about the embodiment of two heroes from diverse existences into one bad a** package.

The Team on Xero

The team’s consensus is this project has all the elements of success. Not only is Xero built for our times, but the team has the depth to tell a powerful story. In the words of Erika Alexander,

“Priest is a master storyteller. Xerø is a powerful project, and we’re thrilled to partner with Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television, the pre-eminent power players.”

There’s reportedly a possibility of a franchise on the table, so congratulations to Fifty. He is a legend in his right, proving project by project, hard work pays off, and there is something supernatural about boundless creativity.

No further production details for Xero are available. However, as more information is made public, FM Hip Hop will cover it.
