Ashanti is showing the world anything is possible. Thursday, March 17th, Ashanti officially became the first Black woman to co-found a Web3 Company. Undoubtedly, we couldn’t be prouder.
Women’s History Month
March is the time set aside to celebrate women; their spirit, grace, talent, power, successes, and impact. And Ashanti’s recent success is a fine example of why this celebratory period exists.
In 1966 James Brown introduced the world to the power ballad “This is a Man’s World.” Without a doubt, Brown’s song was a marker of the times. In fact, one of the most resounding portions of the song is the lyric,
“This is a man’s, man’s, man’s world. But it wouldn’t be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl.”
However, since then, times have changed. And today, there is much to relish knowing women such as Ashanti continues to show the extent of their greatness and impact.
Ashanti’s New Venture
Ashanti is now partnering with EQ Exchange. As a result, Ashanti is now a leader in the tech world. She will now be able to bridge music and tech for herself and others, which is impressive. The doors Ashanti is kicking open is immeasurable.
It is evident she has an astute awareness of business and a drive unlike any other. This move is proof. In her words,
“By empowering myself through new technology, I’m trying to help other women avoid going through the things that I’ve been through. The future belongs to those who take control and make it their own.”
Opportunities for Ashanti and other artists going forward are massive thanks to this new venture.
What is EQ exchange
EQ Exchange is a tech initiative started by a Black woman and Tech Entrepreneur by the name of Janice Taylor. Interestingly, the EQ Exchange was developed with music artists in mind. As Afrotech notes,
“EQ exchange was created to empower musicians with the help of blockchain technology.
The promise of such an offering is unfathomable and already serves as a boon to artists ushering hip hop into the next century.
What is Web3
Essentially, Web3 is the new frontier of technology. One source refers to it as a “new kind of internet service.” More specifically, it is a decentralized way of communicating across the web. As one person describes it,
“Web3 is the internet owned by the builders and users, orchestrated with tokens.”
It is the wave of the future.
Ashanti’s Plan
Ashanti’s plans for her new venture opens the doors of opportunity of many. She will also use the tech company as a vehicle for growing her industry presence,
“Ashanti will release creative experiences and NFT’s exclusively with EQ Exchange,”

Now fans can expect incredible things ahead.
Ashanti’s Success: A Proud Day for the Community
Growth in the industry is paramount. Artists who branch out demonstrating the breadth of their talent and knowledge are a boon for the community. So, with that said, today, we congratulate Ashanti for being a leader and inspiring young women and men. Because of her and examples like hers, the coming generation has walking breathing exemplars of what is possible when one rids themselves of limitations.
