Behind the Headlines: Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson On Good Morning America

Curtis Jackson, “Fifty Cent,” appeared on Good Morning America on Friday, December 13, to discuss his latest documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs. Many looked forward to this update, but was it what everyone expected?

Down The Rabbit Hole

A video released in May showed Combs violently assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie, catching the public off guard. It wasn’t long before Diddy issued a public apology, acknowledging his behavior was inexcusable.

However, this was only a precursor to what followed. The public was stunned. Since then, the Diddy case has escalated, emerging as one of 2024’s most prominent topics, with developments snowballing daily.

Curtis Jackson Takes on Diddy

The scope of Combs’s allegations wasn’t the only surprising revelation. News that Jackson would spearhead a documentary on the artist was even more intriguing. With Jackson at the helm, it was clear it wouldn’t be boring. He was the mastermind behind some of TV’s most raw and gritty dramas like “Power,” “Raising Kanan,” and “BMF. ” So, as the media circus grew, people became more enthused to see what Jackson had to share.

Jackson on GMA (Good Morning America)

Finally, on Friday, December 13th, audiences got a bit more clarity on the project’s status from Jackson. According to Jackson, the project was much larger than anticipated, and as they dug deeper, more allegations surfaced. Jackson compared the findings to an octopus with its vast, complex tentacles. But that was not all the multi-magnate had to say on the topic. The mogul acknowledged that he never anticipated it would reach this extent, further stating that it wasn’t something anyone expected.

True Rivalry or Smoke and Mirrors

Curtis Jackson has long been rumored to be a rival of Sean Combs. The internet and social media have speculated about their supposed feud for years. Some have even speculated that this is part of what fueled Jackson’s decision to take on this project. However, when asked about it on Good Morning America, Fifty Cent clarified that there is simply a “competitive energy” between them—a professional way to describe tension or conflict for publicity or career advancement.

The Spiral

No one expected this documentary to be like the others. A Variety interview with Jackson and Stapleton confirmed this. As noted by both Jackson and Stapleton,

“This is a powerful story with far-reaching human impact. It spans over decades, not just the surface-level headlines or clips we’ve seen thus far.”

Given this project’s extensive scope, it is no surprise that it would take time to piece together. Approaching such a significant topic that sheds light on hip-hop culture and even Hollywood requires careful consideration.

A Ways to Go

The update met expectations. There wasn’t much to expect. It was reassuring to know the project was on track, but it would have been nice to know how close the project was to completion. Since that was not the case, it’s a matter of waiting and seeing for now.

50 Cent’s Housing Initiative in Shreveport, Louisiana

50 Cent is taking his charitable efforts to the next level. The multi-talented entrepreneur has announced a new housing initiative in Louisiana that deserves attention and admiration.

In community focus groups, a major topic of discussion is the impact and influence of celebrities within their communities. Given the current social and economic climate, one common question is whether successful individuals are doing enough for their hometowns and the larger culture. While not everyone is actively involved, Fifty’s recent project shows that there are undoubtedly more people working to make a difference than the general public realizes. This narrative calls for attention and recognition.

50 Cent’s Much-Needed Contribution

According to Afrotech, 50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, plans to build homes in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jackson and his team have devised a three-part strategy, of which this is only one component. According to the growth advisor, their strategy focuses heavily on providing housing options for low- to moderate-income families. As stated in Afrotech,

“We plan to build homes and assist low- to middle-class families with securing mortgages.”

This type of assistance is critically needed in this community.

Housing Crisis In Louisiana

According to the NLIHC (National Low Income Housing Commission), Louisiana is experiencing a housing crisis that disproportionately affects low-income households. Many of these households are struggling to make ends meet, as housing costs consume more than half of their income.

Even more unfortunate, there is a shortage of affordable rental homes for extremely low-income households (ELI) who earn at or below the poverty guideline or 30% of the area median income (AMI). This makes Fifty’s initiative not only admirable but also necessary. This, however, is only one of Jackson’s contributions to his community.

On Motives

Some will argue that he is doing so because his production studio is located in Shreveport. As Afrotech also notes, “the Shreveport area is now home to the rapper’s G-Unit Studios, an extension of his G-Unit Films and Television company.”

So, his outreach could be a public relations strategy. It might be an image-building strategy.  Or strategically, it is simply good for business. Nevertheless, putting all of that aside, what is most important is that he is doing something. Regardless of purpose, the community is reaping the benefits. 50 Cent is essentially giving back to his community. Thus, it’s a win-win.

50 Cent’s Endeavor and Shifting the Narrative

It is a long time before publications globally give more recognition to the impactful work of individuals in the hip-hop industry, such as Jackson. His efforts to address the ongoing crisis, which affects so many people, are nothing short of praiseworthy.

Hopefully, more such stories will be published in the future, shifting the focus from asking why successful people are not giving back to encouraging more to follow in the footsteps of the shining examples who do.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan Gets Release Date

Fans of the Power universe now have a reason to rejoice. Season 3 of the nail-biting urban drama “Raising Canan’s” return has been confirmed. And boy, oh boy, is it making the latter part of 2023 look scintillating.

Curtis Jackson (Fifty) Mesmerizes

50 Cent, also known as Curtis Jackson, captivated fans when he showcased his directorial talent with the release of the crime drama “Power” in 2014. Although some held their breath reserving judgment, the relative success of “Power” proved Jackson had something special. However, building a reputation in the entertainment industry requires more than one project. And Jackson, a true power player, did not waste one minute cementing his skills, proving that his initial success was no stroke of luck. “Power” served as the catalyst for creating an entire universe, the “Powerverse.” Among the series that emerged within this expansive universe was “Book III: Raising Kana (2021).”

Power Book III: Raising Kanan

“Raising Kanan” was conceived as a spinoff to the popular series “Power,” designed to delve into the origins of Kanan, a character portrayed by Fifty Cent himself. Those who were “Power” watchers understood any spinoff featuring Kanan was bound to be drama-soaked and gritty. And Jackson did not disappoint the viewers. With a bombastic soundtrack, top-tier actors, and a rock-solid storyline, “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” hit its mark.

In the autumn of 2022, “Power Book II: Raising Kanan” drew to a close, leaving viewers with an adrenaline rush. The storyline had Raquel facing a coordinated attack, and Kanan was at a crossroads with one foot in the game and one foot out. Such made the anticipation for a third season undeniable. According to Deadline, the series will return to Starz on December 1.

Where it left off: A Prelude to Season 3

The family is in duress this time, and Kanan has much to consider. “His blinders are off, and he doesn’t like what he sees.” The secrets have led to fragility in the ranks.  So, respectfully, there is a lot at stake. As for plot drivers, According to Deadline, this season will revolve around themes of redefinition. This indicates significant changes are on the horizon. And unfortunately,

“They won’t all be able to complete this intensely personal quest. But the destination may reveal the most terrifying secret for those who do.”

With a tagline like that, there is much to anticipate in the upcoming season. It’s an undeniably promising outlook of intense drama and gripping storytelling.

Polishing Off the Details

Fans of Fifty Cent and the Power universe should prepare for a winter that promises to be hotter than ever. And it’s going down on December 1, at 8 p.m. on Starz in the United States and Canada. Mark the date.

Nicki Minaj To Take Part In Upcoming 50Cent Project “Lady Danger”

Nicki Minaj is about to polish off her acting skill for an exciting new project. Minaj has been tapped to feature in 50Cents’ upcoming animated feature, “Lady Danger.” And it’s certainly something that has interests piqued.

Fifty is a Boss

Fifty (Curtis Jackson) has had his hands in everything. When it comes to the television and film industry, it’s like a candy shop for the multi-media magnate. This time Fifty is delving into something a little different. His plan is now for domination in animation with the upcoming feature “Lady Danger.” And if this newest feature turns out to be anything like BMF, Power, or For Life, it’s a bonafide winner.

“Lady Danger

According to Deadline, Lady Danger is derived from the Dark Horse Comic Book Series authored by Alex De Campi. Lady Danger is set in the future, 2075, to be exact. The primary character is a resurrected field agent once thought dead. However, this revived agent of B.O.O.T.I (Bureau of Organized Terrorism Intervention) must hide her true identity as she takes names and kicks butt. Deadline describes Lady Danger as an

“afro futuristic a–kicking Agent of B.O.O.T.I.”

Such invokes imagery of what one might compare to a next-age “Foxy Brown,” which the masses can get down with.

Nicki Minaj, the Multi-Talent: “Lady Danger”

This is not Minaj’s first project in the realm of film/TV. Minaj portrayed Draya in the 2016 film Barber Shop: Next Cut. She also portrayed Lydia in 2014, The Other Woman. Minaj also has done quite a bit of work in animation. She voiced Steffie in Ice Age: Continental Drift, Pinky in Angry Birds 2, and Sugilite in Steven Universe. And now she’s taking on a take-no-prisoners persona, “Lady Danger.” One look at Minaj’s complete portfolio and her talent and business savvy are glaring.

What is Left to Say

The feature is currently in development, so there are no specific details regarding the release date. However, when those drops, FM Hip Hop has got you covered on the details. Congratulations to Fifty on yet another expansive project. And here’s to Nicki Minaj’s unimitable success in everything she has in her sight. Her light is truly bright and inspiration boundless.

“8 Mile” Series Is In the Works

It’s time for fans of Eminem and the 2002 film “8 Mile” to get the hype. On January 7th on Big Boy TV, 50 Cent confirmed he is working on a new project with hip-hop artist Eminem. And in the words of the rap mogul, “I’m gonna bring “8 Mile” to television.”

“8 Mile” Magic

"8 Mile" Series Is In The Works

November 8th marked the twentieth anniversary of the “8 Mile” feature starring Eminem, Kim Bassinger, Brittany Murphey, and Mekhi Phifer. While the plot revolved around a young enterprising hip-hop lyricist, it had massive crossover appeal. “8 Mile” was not the average docu-drama. It was the ultimate success story about the fulfillment of dreams. It bore a moral underpinning wherein anyone could identify. With talent and hard work, achieving your dreams is possible regardless of circumstances. The film had great relevance for the time and maintained that relevance. As Collider notes,

“8 Mile” remains the perfect film for those needing a healthy dose of motivation.”

Surprising Announcement

Some press members asked the unsuspecting Mekhi a few days ago about a possible sequel to “8-Mile.” The star who played Eminem’s friend in the 2002 film was adamant; he didn’t foresee any possibility of there being a sequel. He continued to contend that he was not interested and was sure Eminem was not interested, either. TMZ cites Phifer as saying, “He and Eminem are still pals, and they keep in touch. And then added, Em is focusing more on his music right now.” So, it is safe to assume Phifer knew nothing about 50 Cent’s project. However, in his defense, the forthcoming series will not be a sequel but rather an adaptation.

More Details on the “8 Mile” Series

The “8 Mile” series is being written as a re-adaptation of the original. In an interview with Vulture, Fifty compared the upcoming project to the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reboot. And just as Will Smith worked with the “Bel-Air” series creators, according to Fifty, Eminem also has a part to play in the “8 Mile” series. According to the New York Post, the “Get Rich or Die Tryin” artist said it took little convincing to get the “Lose Yourself” phenom on board. But for those wondering how significant a role he will play. It is not yet confirmed.

At the moment, there is no further production news. But that little morsel is enough to energize fans. And one thing is sure: if Fifty gives the series the same magic he lent to the “Power Universe,” “For Life,” and “BMF,” then the series has to be amazing.

And in the words of Fifty, “It’s gonna be big … You know I ain’t got no duds.”

Fifty Cent Confused by Rumored Claim Eminem Wouldn’t Perform at Superbowl Without Him

Fifty Cent recently got wind of a comment made on a recent episode of “Drink Champs” that had him scratching his head.

The Rumor

Reportedly on the episode, N.O.R.E. recalled a conversation held with Jay Z. This is what was said,

“Jay-Z told him Em would only play the Dr. Dre-led Super Bowl halftime show if Fif was also down to appear.”

However, the exchange baffled Fifty once he heard it.

Fifty Responds

So, Fifty responded.

“Why would he have to say that should be the question?”

Clearly, Fifty knew nothing about such an exchange and could find no rationale for why such an exchange would exist.

Furthermore, Fifty didn’t merely respond to the rumors of ties between Eminem’s performance and his, but also the reference made to Eminem. In the discussion, Eminem was not immediately referenced by name but rather with the moniker “white guy.”

Fifty on Eminem as that “White Guy.”

In N.O.R.E.’s recollection of the conversation with Jay-Z, it went something like this,

“I said to JAY-Z, I have to ask this straight up, ‘Who is gonna perform at the N.F.L?’ He said to me — and I’m sorry for everybody who don’t understand — and he said, ‘the white guy called for 50 Cent’.”

This statement alone threw 50cent for a loop. And we can understand why. Given Eminem’s presence in the industry, why would anyone refer to him as the “white guy.” So Fifty summed up the sentiment perfectly,

“Why did he say the white boy? Why he didn’t say the biggest rap artist in the world?”

Who knows?

Weird Exchange

There is so much off about this conversation that one would hardly know where to begin. However, Fifty has nullified whatever claims about Eminem not performing without him.

50 Cent Keeps it Light.

Fifty informed the public that the trending topic doesn’t bother him. So he kept the light heart and came back with a joke. Some may also see it as harmless and others as inflammatory, comparing Jay-Z’s mane to famous artist Basquiat.

“NORE Your big homie is running around trying to look like a gay painter. 🎨👨‍🎨LOL.”

Realistically, there is nothing to see there because it’s classic Fifty.

Sometimes not everything makes sense. A lot gets lost in translation. However, once the truth is out, it’s safe to say we can move on to the next topic.
