Logic is Coming Out of Retirement

Logic ends his year-long retirement with a new single, “Intro.”

On Thursday, Logic announced his retirement in July 2020 along with the release of his latest studio album. Today, he released his new single, “Intro,” with the short message “I’m back.”

This seems to be a homage to Michael Jordan’s 1995 announcement that he would be returning to the NBA.

“I’m unretired, yeah I’m back”

Logic filled his latest track with hard-hitting lines reflecting on his past. He talks about the struggles of getting to where he is. “My name is Logic and I wrote this record at 19 / and now I’m 31, I read pages from my old rhyme book / and think about the time it took to get here.”

His passion flows through the song, and it is clear his retirement allowed for personal growth.

“Sometimes I wanna come back, but I don’t know if I should come back.”

Logic has put out some free releases since his retirement and album announcements. At the end of “Raddest Dad,” the “1-800-273-8255” the rapper claimed that he didn’t like the industry. He explained that he wanted to step away from it to hone his craft and make music. It seems that the industry wasn’t enough to keep him from making music and doing what he loves.

Overall, Logic’s fanbase seems thrilled to see his return. I think we all are ready for whatever he has in store for the upcoming months.
