Pusha T’s new single “Diet Coke” appeared today (February 8), after several song snippets made rounds online. There are also rumors & speculation around the veteran Virginia rapper dropping a new album early this year.
In addition, the new song is produced by both Kanye West & 88-Keys, unsurprisingly. The beat itself, though, is 18 years old, according to 88-Keys. “I made that beat 18 years ago,” 88-keys claimed. It was an interlude that I made for my beat tape, and the name of my beat tape was ‘The Makings of Crack Cocaine.’ How funny is that?”

Let us take a look at the Pusha T’s “Diet Coke” cover artwork. The cover has the design from Sterling Ruby and carries the grimy yet artistic aesthetic of Pusha’s music. Similarly, the “Diet Coke” music video matches & features Kanye West as well. This isn’t the first black & white music video we’ve seen for Pusha T. It also usually always works out well for him. Check Mercy, Nostalgia, etc. Additionally, the video was directed by the Brooklyn creative Omar Jones, according to Pusha T.
In short, he maintained the idea that this new album “It’s Not Dry Yet” will be the best album this year. Furthermore, in a recent Complex interview, Pusha says, “This era of Push is probably the most relaxed and competitive. I take the game lightly because now I know I’m so different. Is Kanye West cooking up Donda 2? Although West didn’t reveal, a close source did.
Steven Victor, the COO of G.O.O.D. Music, the record label that West created, told Complex that West is making a sequel to Donda currently. “Ye has started working on his new masterpiece DONDA 2.”
We do not know what this entails exactly. It could be another album that is excessively long. Donda 2 could also mean that it is going to be another hip-hop/gospel mix. It is also possible that the sequel will have nothing in common with the first, besides being made by Kanye West. The only thing that we do know is just that Victor had called it a “masterpiece”. This could possibly explain his latest escapade to Belize and his studio time with the legendary Scarface.
West is known for extravagant entrances and announcements. He is one of the most unpredictable artists of his time. Not to mention announcing things only for them to be delayed indefinitely. The fact that this one was leaked instead of publicly announced just means that it is still very early in production and things can change. It also means that the album is still a long way from being completed. It is always possible that this reveal was made to try to force West to make it. However, there is no proof to that theory.
Donda and Donda Deluxe are still making history on the music charts. From his Sunday Services, antics to win back Kim Kardashian, and secret sightings with some ladies; Ye is giving us plenty to ponder.
Kanye West still has yet to comment on the existence of the album. However, we will report on it when and if he does so.
Back in 2010, Pusha T almost missed Kanye West’sMy Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy recording sessions in Hawaii.
Both the album & these sessions became legendary moments in hip-hop history. King Push is a highlight from this era, as he wrote tons of music & featured on two standout songs: “Runaway” & “So Appalled.” In a recent interview with Noah Callahan, Pusha’s manager Steve Victor shared that the Virginia rapper refused to come back to Honolulu & was frustrated with Kanye’s process. Many other stars contributed to the album such as JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi, RZA, Q-Tip, Raekwon, and Pete Rock.

Why Pusha T Almost Missed Kanye’s ‘MBDTF’ Sessions
Initially, Rick Ross reached out to Pusha T saying, “Yo, I’m in Hawaii with Kanye. He wants you to come out to Hawaii and work on his album with him.” Pusha flew in sometimes. According to Steven Victor:
“There’d be periods where we would be in Hawaii for like two or three weeks and no work would be getting done. So for someone like Pusha, it’s like, ‘What is this? This doesn’t make sense.’
It got to a point where, at one time, Pusha refused to go to Hawaii against Victor’s advice.
The Aftermath
Steve Victor eventually went to Hawaii without King Push and ran into Kanye West. Kanye immediately asked for Pusha’s whereabouts upon their meeting. After inviting Victor to a game of basketball, the two began talking business after leaving the court. By the end of the conversation, Kanye was ready to sign Pusha T to the G.O.O.D Music Imprint. After signing. Pusha T recalls Kanye giving him the freedom to work on any MBDTF song. Today, Pusha T is the G.O.O.D Music, and will always boast legendary moments on Kanye’s most impactful album.
Some rappers take their time. Dropping a new track at the right time can require expert timing. Sometimes, it comes down to who else is releasing what and when? Is it the right time of year? Is it ready? Maybe you’re a perfectionist, and the idea of time is just an afterthought compared to the desired quality. If you happen to be Big Sean, these previous questions do not apply to you. Good for Big Sean. He’s certainly having fun on his new track, “What A Life.” With the aptly named Hit-Boy, Sean delivers some incredibly precise, well-timed flows on this new single. It’s great when you’re backed up by the producer of “Ni**as in Paris,” “Trophies,” and, of course, the Grammy-winning “Racks in the Middle.”
Overall, it’s an examination of where he’s come and where he’s going. He delivers lines like:
Only get one life, swear I almost died twice
I went triple platinum more than three times, what a life, man (Life)
Feel like God went and blessed me with the trick dice
Sean ends the chorus with the memorable:
Go ahead then, tell me what your price is
Mine’s is a hundred B’s, nigga, you can’t swipe this (Bitch)
Speaking of B’s, the music video is worth checking out. Suffice it to say that the video is…experimental. While it’s got your typical video goodies like Sean performing to screaming fans, rapping on rooftops, and the odd floating-above-the-city trick, it’s got something else. Remember that line about bees?

What other rappers do you know that can sit in a high-back leather chair covered in honeymakers? At the time of writing this, it appears that Sean also got off without too many stings. In fact, he hasn’t said anything about stinging. Proof enough that his price, while high, doesn’t do him any harm.

Just after the recent release of the Donda album, Good Music’s president Terrence Thornton aka Pusha T was spotted at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club on the dawn of its 18th anniversary. There has been speculation that Push will be releasing an album this year, but now we have full confirmation. “New Album coming soon check for Donda,” Pusha T told reporters. Fans of Good Music have been in an uproar waiting for the release of Donda. Push took to his Instagram amid the release, “this is about money, power, influence, and taste… nothing more nothing less. Watching you “joystick the culture” makes us all proud. Continue to do things your way, congrats, and I’m honored to have been a part of the process” (per HNHH).
After 3 listening parties, the release of some never-before-seen producer technology and some very wild theatrics including a few headbutts between the greats along with Kendrick’s return. We finally got the Donda album. Pusha played a big role in the creation of this album being Kanye’s right-hand man. The two have spent over a decade building the Good Music empire. Anchored down tightly by artists such as Common, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Travis Scott and many more.
It’s been three years since the release of Daytona, Pusha T’s 2018 album of the year nominee. Which was a self-proclaimed debut dabbling into a rap beef and coming out victorious against America’s favorite rapper and billboard baby Aubrey Graham aka Drake. Now it’s time for the return and we are all curious about what he has to say. He never fails at capturing the drug dealer esque.
Fans are curious 一 will this album address any more hidden beef between him and Drake? The feud between Kanye and Drake along with Pusha T has lasted just about 3 years now. Amid becoming a father, a married man and a businessman, we expect to hear a sonically in-depth look into push’s new life ventures.

ScHoolBoy Q and Travis $cott Release New Track and Visual “CHopstix”
Salutations FM Trendsetters and FM Hip Hop Heads! “The Marathon still continues..” Despite the fall of the late great Nipsey Hussle (Rest in Peace), the West Coast still has a hope in this music game. A talented artist that came out with a collective, in which came out the same time Nipsey Hussle came out, is back on the music scene. Top Dawg Entertainment‘s own ScHoolBoy Q released a new music video and banger, featuring Billboard Award nominee Travis $cott. “CHopstix” was released as a new track this past Monday on all social media and music outlets. The banger was then released as an official music video via ScHoolBoy Q‘s VEVO/Youtube channel on Wednesday.
The video was directed by well known Chicago-born videographer Nabil Elderkin (bka Nabil). The director has a prior history with working with Travis $cott and his collaborations, including SZA‘s “Love Galore” and Travis $cott‘s “YOSEMITE“. Nabil also worked with fellow Top Dawg artist Kendrick Lamar for his highly anticipated and controversial “DNA” music video. So you already know the videography is going to be lit.
The song, produced by DJ Dahi (Drake‘s “Worst Behavior“) is already certified FM Phenomenal! The instruments in the track embeds the whole “chopsticks” double montage, from the plucking of the strings to the slight touch of the keys in the beat. Not to mention the snares and 808s keep your head moving for days. This is definitely a song I would keep on repeat. Oh, don’t worry, ScHoolBoy Q explains in the first verse why the song is called “CHopstix“.
The video is in classic black and white, around roaring 20s to 1930s-ish burlesque era. Travis $cott is the conductor of a beautiful orchestra and ScHoolBoy Q is a magical host, who has his eyes on a beautiful woman in the audience. The costumes were amazing, but I did not expect anything less from the highly credited director. The video was so authentic and complimented the track. Make sure you check it out below:
