Polo G Felony Assault Charges Dropped

Prosecutors in Miami-Dade County, Florida have dropped felony assault charges levied against rapper Polo G, TMZ  reports. The three charges stemmed from an incident taking place in Miami last June.

Before today, Taurus Tremani Bartlett (Polo G) had been facing three felony counts of assault against an officer, as well as threatening a public servant. In addition to these, a separate criminal mischief misdemeanor was brought against him. This misdemeanor has been dropped as well. All dropped charges have been due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

As a final charge, prosecutors brought forth a charge of resisting an officer. However, this was reduced to a misdemeanor.

The arrest and charges of Polo G

In the early morning hours of June 12, Polo G was pulled over by multiple police officers. According to Polo G, those officers had been tailing him for sometime. This was following a release party for his 2021 album Hall of FameHis younger brother was also in the car with him. Polo G’s mother, Stasia Mac, claimed on Twitter the police “stopped them because they were driving while Black.”

The Chicago rapper was released on $19,500 bail. He still faces two charges of resisting an officer without violence. It is unclear if these charges will also be dropped. No comment has been given by the Miami-Dade State Attorney.

Interestingly, Bradford Cohen, attorney for Polo G, has said that there is a way for the rapper to have all charges dropped. According to the lawyer, the rapper will enroll in anger management courses. Upon completion, Cohen says that remainder charges will be dropped. Again, no comment from Miami-Dade.

Legal problems aside, it has been quite a year for Polo G. His third studio album, Hall of Fame, dropped in just a day before his arrest, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Among the singles were the smash hits “Gang Gang” and the Hot 100-topper “RAPSTAR”.

FBI Warned Jay-Z To Delete His Emails Due To A Possible Hacking Attack

The FBI officials advised Jay-Z to delete all of his emails due to a possible hacking attack, a source told Complex.

FBI allegedly claimed there was an “imminent attack” on Jay-Z. Supposedly, a target was the rapper’s mailbox.

Jay-Z, and Hacking in the Rapper’s Accounts

This is one of the recent alleged hacking attacks reported. A week ago, an insider from Lil Boosie’s circle claimed that “someone is trying to frame him, and make [Boosie] lose his Twitter [account].” The insider also added, “possibly Russians..”

The insider’s claim was in response to Boosie’s homophobic tweets and death wishes to Lil Was X. “[Boosie] says crazy things on social media, but that definitely wasn’t him,” the insider claimed.

STOP TROLLING ME FAGGOT LOL,” Lil Boosie asked Lil Nas X in a then-deleted tweet. “U A WHILE BITCH PLAYING WITH A GANGSTA…IF YOU #commitsuicide YOU WOULD DO THIS WORD A HUGE FAVOR. NOBODY WANTS YOU HERE.”

After blaming Russians, Boosie kept fighting homophobia. His next target was Charlamagne tha God. Or the random Twitter account; it’s still unclear.

Boosie wrote, “THEY STILL GOT MY NAME N THEY MOUTH BOUT THAT GAY SHIT LOL.” He kept going after mentioning Charlamagne’s account in his tweet, “U PART OF THE PROBLEM KEEP EGGING THESE PEOPLE ON YOUR SHOW WITH THIS BRO.U USING YOUR PLATFORM TO SUPPORT NASxn his ANTICS ( I SEE WHAT SIDE U ON ) HE SAID FUCK YALL KIDS SMH DUMMIES.”

There is a though a slight nuance. While mentioning Charlamagne tha God in his tweet, Boosie sent his response to the AuxGod’s tweet.

Jay-Z, the Hall of Fame

Amidst all the hacking attacks, Jay-Z also entered the Hall of Fame a week ago. His debut album, ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ turned 25 years old, thus, allowing the rapper to join the Hall.

In his speech, Jay-Z thanked those who were along the artist’s way. “Shout out to Dame, I know we don’t see eye to eye, but I can never erase your accomplishments. And I appreciate you, and I thank you for that. Shout out to Biggs. He was one of the most honorable people I’ve ever met, and we created something that will probably never be duplicated. I appreciate you guys. Thank you for our journey, thank you, thank you for your contribution to this journey.”

Polo G’s Mom Shares Why He’s Worth Six Figures

At just 22, Chicago rapper Polo G has already cut his teeth as one of the biggest in the game. He’s released two acclaimed albums, and his latest, Hall of Fame, debuted on top of the Billboard 200 in June.  Since then, he’s dropped a song with Eminem, graced the cover of Rolling Stone, and announced a major U.S. tour this fall. To say Polo G’s talents are high in demand is an understatement, and his mother feels their price should match.

Standing on His Worth

Stacia Mac, Polo G’s mother and manager, revealed in an interview with Billboard she charges six figures for a Polo G performance. For Mac, the price is more than reasonable for both her son’s skill and the historic exploitation of black people in the music industry.

“We arrived at his current fee with each of our successes,” she said. “People of color are slighted. That’s a fact. What you have to do is stand firm on your worth.”

Polo G previously charged $85,000 for features in 2020 but said in a May interview with GQ that number is now $150,000.

“I’m going to keep going up on the price for sure,” the rapper said. “Because I take everything that I do seriously, so I know you gonna get a good verse out of me.”

The rapper has a contract with Columbia Records, and last year launched his own offset of the label, Only Dreamers Achieve Records (ODA). In a sweet touch, ODA shares a name with the first song Polo G ever released on YouTube.

“We chose Columbia because we knew they would throw their all into my son and he would not be shelved,” Mac shared. “They had as much riding on making him a Hip-Hop star as he had to make himself one.”

Polo G’s Complicated Rise

Polo G began rapping in his teens, growing up the second of four children in the North Side of Chicago. After gaining traction on Soundcloud in 2018, he found his first hit in early 2019 with the Lil Tjay collab “Pop Out.” Polo released his debut album, Die a Legend, in 2019, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. The rest is history.

However, Polo G’s road to stardom has had bumps. As a young man trying to make it and provide for his family, Polo G saw a string of arrests in his teens after selling marijuana and stealing cars. In June of this year, Polo was arrested in Miami after police encountered weapons in his vehicle, leading to an altercation. TMZ reported that Polo G threatened multiple officers. Polo G and Stacia Mac both tweeted statements hinting the rapper may have been targeted.

Hall-of-Famer

No matter the obstacles, Polo G has still managed to find runaway success in the industry. The success of Hall of Fame led to more than just a stadium tour, and the album has gained its fair share of Grammy buzz. Though first-round voting won’t begin until October 22nd, many suspect Polo G could earn himself a statuette in January.

Though his price continues to skyrocket, Polo G’s work ethic hasn’t changed. He’s expressed excitement to finally be back on tour, and release a Hall of Fame deluxe in October. The rapper teased the project last month on Instagram Live.

Whatever Polo G has coming next, he has set the bar high. As he prepares for awards season, tour, and a new album, the rapper clearly has his eye on the prize. In fact, he shared on Twitter:

“Havin the skill to hustle is a blessin a lot of ppl don’t got it in em to survive.”

Eminem’s Feature with Skylar Grey, Mozzy, and Polo G Is Real

A rumored new track with Eminem, Skylar Grey, Mozzy and Polo G is finally here, with proof.

While the official premiere of “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” is still to come, some fans have already had a chance to view the new film in private screenings. One lucky viewer told South Pawers about the Eminem feature in the upcoming movie soundtrack, which reportedly plays during the end credits. Another fan confirmed via Reddit that the new track also features Skylar Grey, Mozzy, and Polo G.

Fan(s) reporting on the new song via Reddit

Earlier this month, Mozzy’s team hinted at the upcoming collaboration. Polo G has also told fans to stay alert for new music coming out on October 1st. However, Mozzy’s management and Polo G later deleted their tweets. On top of that, Skylar Grey also recently followed both Mozzy and Polo G on Instagram.

Fans who reported the new track seemed happy with it. Reviews on Twitter claim that “it’s fire.” The official premiere of “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” is on October 1st.

Eminem’s Winning Streak

Eminem is predicted to come back with a vengeance this year; the upcoming “Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage” soundtrack is only one piece of the multiple projects expected from the artist sometime soon. Em seems to be hard at work on a new project, which fans speculate will be Marshall Mathers LP III.

The last year has been a success for Eminem. He released his album Music to be Murdered By, which achieved over 1 million views and went platinum.  He also performed at the 2020 Oscars and contributed a hit titular song to the first “Venom” movie soundtrack, which eventually gained traction as a TikTok sound. Em’s been proving he’s no rapper of the past, and it seems his plan is only to keep going harder.

Polo G on the Rise

Polo G has been on the rise as well. His recent album Hall of Fame garnered critical acclaim and went #1 on the Billboard charts. The project also boasts big-name features including Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Lil Wayne, and more. Competing with Migos’ Culture III, which was released simultaneously, each project respectively achieved the second and third largest sales for hip-hop albums in the first half of 2021.

With Polo G’s star on the rise, fans are more than hyped to see him collaborate with the legendary Eminem. And longtime Em collaborator Skylar Grey, who also had a feature on Music to Be Murdered By, is a welcome addition to the track. Though the rest of us will have to wait until the film’s official premiere on October 1st to hear Em’s newest song, early reactions from viewers promise there’s much to be excited for.

Polo G’s ‘Hall of Fame’ Secures No. 1 Spot on Billboard 200 Chart

Polo G earns his first No. 1 album.

After a tight battle with Migos, Polo G has claimed the top spot on Billboard’s 200 Chart. His album, Hall of Fame, earned 143,000 album equivalent units in the United States in its debut week.

The album boasts some big-name features, including Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Lil Wayne and more. It features the former Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Rapstar.”

The achievement comes soon after the rapper was arrested in Miami, though he’s since been released.

Hall of Fame wasn’t the only big album of the week.

Migos came in behind Polo G, earning 130,500 album equivalent units with Culture III. Polo G was able to beat the Atlanta trio despite the fact that they released a deluxe edition of their album with extra tracks before the week was over.

Hall of Fame and Culture III are two of the biggest albums of the year. They achieved the second and third largest sales weeks of hip-hop albums in 2021 so far, respectively. The Off-Season by J. Cole is the only rap album to sell more in a single week this year.

Polo G’s new album serves as the Chicago native’s first album to reach the top spot of Billboard’s album charts. His debut, Die A Legend, secured the 6 spot back in 2019, while its follow-up, The Goat, earned the No. 2 spot in 2020.

Polo G Released Hall of Fame

Polo G released Hall of Fame, his new album, on June 11th. Unsurprisingly, the debut has been massive. With hits like “Rap Star” and “Gang Gang,” this album appears to be racing to the top spot on the Billboard. The album features guest artists like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, DaBaby and the late Pop Smoke.
Polo G Hall of Fame

“My goal for Hall of Fame was just to make sure that I can show my diversity as an artist,” Polo G said in the album announcement video. “For the people to hear something that I ain’t never did before.”

Since Polo G released Hall of Fame, he is putting in the work to promote his new album, and he has appeared most recently on The Tonight Show, where he performed “Rap Star”. Exposure like that has had a big impact on the album. Evidently, people seem to love everything that Polo G puts out, and he is making a name for himself as one of the best in the game today. So far, Hall of Fame looks to be on pace to outperform Polo G’s first album The Goat.

Polo G is Hot Right Now

As you may know, The Goat was released in 2020, so Polo G has been busy. It appears that he will be living at the top of the charts for a long time to come. Apparently, everything the man touches turns to gold.

The Notorious B.I.G. Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

The Notorious B.I.G.
The Notorious B.I.G.

During a pre-recorded HBO special that aired Saturday, The Notorious B.I.G. (real name Christopher Wallace) was the only rapper to get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z and “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda spoke on behalf of one of the greatest rappers of all time.

Known as Biggie Smalls or Biggie during his time, the rapper was murdered at the age of 24 years old. He was shot only 6 months after his friend and rapper Tupac Shakur was murdered, and there’s speculation that the killings were connected.

Primally, Big started rapping around the age of 10 with his friends Sam Hubert and Mike Bynum. Hubert and Biggie met in daycare, and he became Biggie’s DJ.

Biggie’s Style

His plummy, wheezy, and deep voice is like no other, and he really sings through his chest. Jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison taught Biggie diction and phrasing while he lived in Brooklyn.

Although he dropped out of school after his freshman year and reportedly started selling drugs, he kept rapping and was seen on street corners free-styling. His unique style and flow were noticed from the beginning, and he’s still one of the most emulated and biggest-selling rappers today.

Watch his free-style below.

Biggie’s Albums

On the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame website, they explained how Smalls “prophesied his short but impactful career with albums “Ready to Die” and “Life After Death” – two of hip-hop’s most influential albums.”

Within his two albums, Big tells true stories in some of his tracks. In others, he spins tales of street lore that are shown in lots of rap. They include violence, guns, and drugs. Big was truly a legend, and the rap industry could be a lot different if he was still here with us.

Other music icons that were inducted include Whitney Houston, the Doobie Brothers, and Nine Inch Nails.
