All is well with Consequence, Drake and Noah “40” Shebib

Queens-born American rapper Dexter Raymond Mills, Jr., known as Consequence, acknowledged taking the antagonism between Drake and Kanye West too far. Addressing Drake and Noah “40” Shebib, he called that decision a mistake.

Consequence uploaded a post, “Petty Energy ain’t it for 2022.” Consequence captioned the screenshot, before later adding, “As an OG, I owe @champagnepapi an apology for letting the competition over the LP’s spiral out of control. Pardon me for whatever was said about you or your loved ones. Keep doing you bro…”

Exchange of Direct Messages between Consequence and Noah

On June 1, Consequence made DMs between himself and Noah “40” Shebib, OVO Sound Label producer public.

“Just wanted to tell you, cause I didn’t get the chance the other night, you’re for real one of my favorite rappers ever,” Noah’s message read. “Like for real. Just had to express that you and say thank you.”

Cons responded at the time: “My dawg. I fucks with y’all and I told Ye it’s great look to lock in with y’all. I def want to build with you and Drake.”

Kanya-Drake Antagonism

The Kanye-Drake conflict is one of the most controversial feuds in hip-hop industry. The open hostility between both world-famous, American, hip-hop artists can be traced back to 2007. West and Drake have been at loggerheads since then.

The controversy took an ugly turn in May 2018, when Pusha T. (the G.O.O.D. Music president) and executive producer Kanye West released studio album Daytona. In the last track of the album Infrared, Pusha T. selected Drake’s ghostwriting allegations about Kanye. Later, Drake backfired by suggesting he wrote Father Stretch my Hands and 30 Hours in Kanye West’s track The Life of Pablo. Pusha T. criticized Drake in The Story of Adidon, however, as he persistently kept the identity of his son hidden. Pusha T. even considered using this information in one of the Adidas campaigns.

The conflict re-emerged in 2021, ahead of the music album releases for Drake’s Certified Lover Boy and West’s Donda. Kanye confronted Drake in a group chat, and Drake responded by leaking Kanye’s collaboration with André 3000’s Life Of The Party— a previously unreleased song by West—in his radio station. Kanye reciprocated Drake’s attitude by posting his full address on Instagram but deleted the post after a short time. Amidst these struggles, Kanye released his tenth studio album Donda on August 29, and Drake released his sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy on September 3.

Consequence Criticized Drake

The conflict dragged other rappers, such as Andre 3000, Consequence and Pusha T., into the dispute. Consequence took the side of West, and in his track Party Time, he rapped lines like “Your parents out here like Sonya and Dell / And ever since Sophie had a story to tell/ You’ve been taking L’s and coming after K / And thought we couldn’t tell you were coming after K / But most crabs are a shell of their self.” Pusha T. was directing these lyrics towards Drake.

All Is Well With Consequence, Drake and Noah

In November 2021, both Drake and West are rumoured to have ended their feud. Kanya West posted a picture of himself, Drake and J. Prince in front of Drake’s mansion in Canada. Indeed, Consequence seems to want to make sure all is well with Drake and Noah “40” Shebib as he gears up for his new album, a follow-up of his 2016 A Good Comeback Story EP album.

Snoop Dogg And BTS To Transcend Genre With New Collab

Hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg just confirmed an upcoming collab with K-pop superstars BTS. Snoop said in a red carpet interview, the rapper explained why he wants to work with the South Korean band.

“I make good music, they make good music.”

he said. He mentioned this project would help “bring their worlds together.”

Fans suspected a collab was on the way when Snoop revealed he received a request from the group to work together in an interview on the Mogul Talks podcast. At the time, the rapper was unsure if he would have the time to do it. He also didn’t know much about the group until he asked his nephew about them.

“I’ve been experiencing the K-pop experience for a long time. Come on now, it’s what I do.”

Snoop said in another interview.

The group has also been a fan of Snoop’s for a while. In their 2014 song “Hip-Hop Phile,” they referenced his album 1993 album, Doggystyle.

Snoop x BTS Isn’t That Surprising Of A Combo

This might seem like an unusual pairing until you look at the collaborators each artist worked with previously. Snoop has never shied away from experimentation. He has ventured into reggae before and has a long history on the western pop scene. He’s already collaborated with pop giants like Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake. Likewise, he worked with pop groups Big Time Rush and The Pussycat Dolls. Furthermore, this also isn’t the rapper’s first foray into the K-pop genre. In the past, he worked with groups Girls Generation, and 2NE1, as well as soloist PSY.

A Little On BTS

BTS has quite a few impressive musical endeavors as well. The band debuted in 2013, with their first few albums heavily influenced by Western rappers. Even though their sounds evolve with each era, they’ve never forgotten their roots. Over the years, BTS has collected collabs with Nicki Minaj, Wale, Warren G, Desiigner, and Becky G, and two collabs with the late rapper, Juice WRLD.  Last summer, they covered Diddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You,” which they dedicated to anyone struggling during the pandemic. Just last year, the seven-member group collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on a remix of their Grammy-nominated hit “Butter.” Between BTS’ three rappers, RM, Suga, and J-Hope, there are at least five albums and mixtapes between them.

Both BTS and Snoop have never shied away from experimenting with different genres. There isn’t much information out about the collab, but Snoop said it’s “official like a referee with a whistle.” Regardless of the genre, fans of both definitely have something to look forward to.

Cordae Sets Dates For “From A Bird’s Eye View” Tour

YBN Cordae is making major moves after releasing dates for his upcoming From A Bird’s Eye View tour. The North Carolina native has been under the radar over the past year, but is back on scene with a bang!

Cordae Sets Dates For 2022 'From A Bird's Eye View' Tour

After gaining momentum from his mixtape, Anxiety, the rap star took a hiatus from music, only appearing publicly in support of his girlfriend, tennis superstar Naomi Osaka.

The Young Boss Niggas member dropped the tour dates after releasing a music video for “Sinister,” which features Lil Wayne.

From A Bird’s Eye View

Cordae announced his sophomore album, From a Bird’s Eye View, just this past month. The project will drop on January 14 under Atlantic Records. Cordae stated in a press release the inspiration for the album was “a life-changing trip to Africa, enduring the loss of a friend gone too soon, and evolving as an artist and a man.”

His new album couldn’t come at a better time, as fans are desperate for new music after his last album was released in 2019. The Lost Boy brought Cordae two Grammy nominations; Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song for single “Bad Idea.”

Making of a Star

Cordae jumped into the rap game when he moved from Maryland to Los Angeles. He gained fame in his early career for remixing legendary cuts like Eminem’s “My Name Is” and J. Cole’s “1985.”

Cordae also found himself an internet sensation after an interview with L.A. Leakers. There he showed he was a force by giving evidence to his freestyling skills over several beats.

This summer, Cordae took over a revamped version of Nas’ 1993 track “Life Is Like a Dice Game” alongside Freddie Gibbs. A feature verse from Nas solidified the approval rate of the track and release with Spotify singles.

Tickets are available now for the From a Bird’s Eye View tour. Gear up with this video, displaying his journey to the new album release.

Hip-Hop Reacts to Pro-Trump Mob at U.S Capital

As violent protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday during the counting of electoral votes to confirm President-elect Joe Biden, America was watching. That included some people in the entertainment world, many of whom were compelled to comment on social media as the angry mob and thugs made their way into the government building.  As rioters looted, smashed windows, and sprayed police officers with chemicals, people watching the chaos happen on social media were noticing the huge difference in response to the attack and last year’s Black Lives Matter protests.

Marches and protest against police brutality and the killings of unarmed Black people — like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, were last summer met with an overflow of police and military presence, which often led to law enforcement officers using tear gas and physical violence against protesters.

Cardi B called the situation “ironic,” saying, “weren’t people just wild animals in the summer for demanding justice and now?”

She wrote in a follow-up tweet: “Protesters were getting called animals, looters, thugs for rioting and protesting over JUSTICE & EQUALITY by the same people that are out today doing the same shit over ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!”

50 Cent took to Instagram where he shared a photo of a fleet of military personnel at the US Capitol during the BLM protests during the summer. “I don’t have to say anything else,” he captioned.

Meek Mill described the scene as “two Americas.” “2 americas! They would of shot us down literally if this was blacks by the way,” he wrote.  ScHoolboy Q showed the same frustration in a tweet, saying, “If tHe police don’t start smoking tHese weirdos ima get Hot.”

Plies, however, saw the incident in a different light, expressing that this is the type of exposure America needs. “America is gettin’ to see who the real thugs are in this country.”

Check out the reaction from other star below

Hamilton Goes Off Stage: Now Available on Disney+!

Disney Plus has had a praise of reviews since its launch on November 12, 2019. The on-demand streaming service distributes a variety of both older films, modern films, and television series associated with Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. As Disney+ surpasses over 50 million subscribers, the business alone produced a revenue of over $4 billion dollars from just this past year.

Moreover, there has been nothing but outstanding reviews on the entirety of the cast, production, scenery, costumes, and of course the heavy hip-hop influences that helped to differentiate this musical. Hamilton: An American Musical, simply known as Hamilton is a certified Broadway musical written by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, a Puerto Rican-American composer, actor, rapper, singer, lyricist, producer, and playwright born and raised in New York City. This musical creatively tells the life story of the first U.S. treasury secretary, Alexander Hamilton, in a way that exudes the cultural influences of hip-hop, R&B, pop, freestyle battles, and even “slang” throughout the script. The story takes place in the 1700’s and fundamentally covers the life of Alexander Hamilton and his journey in becoming a founding father. The musical solely flips the traditional story of Hamilton and makes it more zestful with the heavy cultural influences of hip-hop and the several cues of humor which helped to modernize this performance.

Furthermore, this three-hour play steps outside of the traditional playwright box and uses a very diverse team of actors ranging from African-Americans to Latinos. With the casting of Hamilton, it reverses the stereotypical casting criteria as a majority of the characters and all of the Founding Fathers were intentionally casted by non-white actors. The production first premiered Off-Broadway on January 20, 2015 at the Public Theater in NYC. Due to all of the praise it has received, Hamilton moved onto a bigger and better Broadway stage on August 6, 2015. As a cast and individually, this musical has won 27 awards including 11 Tony awards with one being the “Best New Musical”. The average ticket price to see Hamilton live on Broadway ranges between $300-$850.

Viewers are completely ecstatic now about being able to watch the musical in the comfort of their homes with just a simple subscription. Stream Hamilton now available on Disney Plus!
