Megan Thee Stallion Facing Record Label Issues Ahead Of ‘Traumazine’ Release

Megan Thee Stallion is going at it with her label again due to issues with song leaks & rollout plans. Her new album Traumazine is set to release at midnight (August 12) & should be her last release on 1501 Certified Entertainment. This isn’t the first time Megan expressed discontent with her label, as frictions have lingered for most of her career since fame. Yesterday, August 10th, Meg went on Twitter to reassure fans & clear up some things about her project/situation. Take a look at her initial tweet below:

About Megan’s New Album Traumazine

As mentioned above, Megan is still dropping her new album Traumazine tonight under 1501 Certified Entertainment. This album should be the last on her current contract with the label according to the Texas superstar. Her previous album, Good News, sold over 100,000 units in its first week of release 2 years ago. Traumazine features an 18-song tracklist that includes previously released singles like “Plan B”, “Pressurelicious” & “Sweetest Pie”.

Her new album contains a load of talented guest appearances ranging from her peers & Hip-Hop veterans. Dua Lipa, Jhené Aiko, Rico Nasty, Latto, Key Glock, Pooh Shiesty, Future & more. Which song are you the most excited to stream upon the album’s release later on tonight?

Where Will Meg’s Career Go Next From Here?

Things should hopefully die down between Megan & her label now that this is her last album on her contract. The hot girls are ready for their favorite female artist to finally be out of her troubling label contract. With that being said, there’s a good chance Megan could stay independent & take more control of her career. Alternatively, labels are probably lined up waiting to offer her millions of dollars whenever she departs from 1501 Certified Entertainment. If you were in her position, how would you navigate these choices?

Key Glock Considers Going To Acting School Instead Of Doing Music

Memphis rapper, Key Glock, has been considering a career change inciting music just isn’t the same anymore for him.

He tweeted out this sentiment on Thursday, Mar. 3, saying that he would go to acting school instead of rapping.

“finna go to acting school.. doing music don’t hit da same for me anymore,” he said.

Glock has reportedly been heavily impacted by his cousin Young Dolph‘s death, so fans speculate that is the reason for his pending decision.

Glock’s fans encourage him to keep making music

His followers responded to his post, saying that they don’t want their favorite artist to give up.

“N***a you got the game from Dolph, you the youngest of the empire and heir to the throne better keep going up the ladder,” said @ILuvTheFame.

“Nah… you’re too talented to stop music. It’s in your blood. PRE needs your sound. Dolph still lives through you. Make acting a side hustle. But supporting all moves you make regardless,” @Chris_Goral_ said.

“It can be depressing seeing as that you did a lot of music with your brother and was inspired by him! Take all the time you need to heal.. step away if need be but don’t give up completely on it. You’re talented asf,” @thebiggestdonp wrote.

Young Dolph was a rapper to the public but a cousin to Glock

Dolph was tragically shot and killed in his hometown as he was exiting a popular local shop called Makeda’s Cookies. Fans were completely shocked and sent a flood of condolences to Glock, and Dolph’s wife and children. Celebrities also chimed in with their thoughts on the late rapper’s passing, and fellow rappers even created musical tributes.

Not only was Dolph related to Glock, but he also signed him to Paper Route Empire label in 2017. From there, he released a ton of songs like “Mr. Glock” and “Mister Glock 2.” The pair collaborated to drop their joint mixtapes Dum & Dummer one and two, which hit no. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Most recently, the 24-year-old musician dropped an emotional record titled “Long Ling Dolph” as a tribute to his slain cousin. Its accompanying video includes a compilation of video clips of him, Dolph, and Dolph’s memorial in Memphis.

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, he announced that he will be going on his first solo tour, The Yellow Tape Tour.

He signed to Young Dolph’s label Paper Route Empire in 2017.

They have two mixtapes together titled  Dum and Dummer in 2019 and Dum and Dummer 2 in 2021. Both projects peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. Following Dolph’s death, Glock broke his silence on Instagram. He said in a story post, “STOP asking me if I’m ok knowing damn well I ain’t.”

Later on, he labeled Dolph as his “brother, cousin and mentor” and compared their relationship to Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson.

“damn bro, im LOST,” he wrote. “my heart is torn, my brain is bout to explode. It HURTS when I breathe..why did you leave me so soon?? I’ll never be the same. You were my lefthand man, brother, cousin, mentor, and drink partner for the past two years. I’ve been taking LOSS AFTER LOSS and still can’t understand why. First, it was my pops, auntie, grandma, and now YOU!! I know we can’t question GOD but GOD, why?! There’s nothing no one can do or say to bring you back, and that shit eats me up by the second!!”

Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis at Makeda’s Cookies. He was picking up cookies for his mother. A white Mercedes-Benz allegedly pulled up to the shop and opened fire, killing Dolph at the scene.

Young Dolph Has No Plans to Retire Right Now

Young Dolph refuses to let his community down by retiring from music

Young Dolph went on the Big Facts podcast with DJ Scream and Big Bank to discuss a few topics that have circulated his name lately. One topic was the possibility of his retirement. The Memphis rapper has released projects in the past year that promoted his name. The “King of Memphis” has recently started to see more mainstream success. He released the project “PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi” which collaborated with other artists under his label Paper Route Empire. He also released an album with Paper Route Empire member Key Glock titled “Dum and Dummer 2” this year. Young Dolph did not stay quiet in the first half of 2021, and his promise of not retiring soon hints at even more releases soon.

Young Dolph has hinted at possible retirement in the past, showing the desire to leave the industry and spend more time with his family. The artist hinted at retirement leading up to and following past releases but went back on his word each time. When asked about the pattern on the Big Facts podcast, Dolph said he felt like the spokesperson for people like him. He continued by saying he connected with the community of people that wanted to do their own independent thing. He wants to inspire those who are really passionate about music and are trying to leave the life they’re in. “I can’t let these folks down,” he said. Overall, his passion for music and helping those in his community feel inspired overpowers any desire to leave the industry. We know he will continue to provide us with new projects, at least in 2021.
