Casino Jizzle‘s “Perc Cry” takes a deeper look at drug addiction. Moreover, the rapper taps into the mental and emotional state of someone struggling to cope without their vice. The trap-ridden beat slightly samples Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” In the beginning, he raps
“Mayne, I hate to hear there ain’t no percocets/I be searching tryna find out where you at/I get so upset.”
In the second verse, he expresses why he depends on the drug, saying, “I can’t be myself without you, you my motivation/Motivate me to be motivating.” He also explains how this codependency began. Although the narcotic made his dopamine rise, he feels horrible without it.
“I can’t lie, you got me hooked, and I ain’t talking fishing,” he raps.
Afterward, he recalls moments while in that zone. Casino Jizzle also explains what he misses most from taking the pill.
He says, “‘Perc Cry’ is a song I wrote when I went two weeks without Percocet. In the song, I’m rapping about Percocets as if the drug was a woman. I explain how the drug makes me Who I am and how depressed I become when they’re not around.”
“Perc Cry” appears on Jizzle’s latest project, Neutron. Available via Casino Gang Music Group, the 19-track project features guest appearances from Asian Doll, K Muney, Kutthroat Devo, and more. Along with “Perc Cry,” Neutron also includes breakout songs “Drac & Gloc,” “Only The Steppers,” and “We Da Opps (Remix).”
