Texas Rapper, Lil Loaded, Dead at Age 20
On May 31st, 2021, Lil Loaded, real name Dashawn Maurice Robertson, was reported dead
The Dallas rapper was only 20 years old with a promising career ahead.
The cause of his death is not officially declared, though his lawyer claims suicide. His friend, Cyraq, affirms this, taking to Instagram to share what he knows of Robertson’s passing. In a series of Insta stories, Cyraq claims that Loaded ended his life over his relationship with his girl. Cyraq’s speculation indicates that Loaded’s girlfriend was unfaithful, causing the tragic outcome. However, there was certainly another big drama going on in Lil Loaded’s life.
Legal troubles further complicate rapper’s life
On October 25, 2020, Loaded’s friend, Khalil Walker died from a gunshot. Lil Loaded was on the scene and speculated to have done the shooting. Upon seeing the warrant for his arrest, he turned himself into authorities. Upon being bailed out, the murder charges were dropped to manslaughter charges, a court case that would be occurring today, June 1st. Additionally, Robertson also had a pending misdemeanor charge for illegal carrying of a weapon.
With the pressure of the case and the information from Cyraq it, unfortunately, adds up to a tragic assumption that Robertson did indeed take his own life. Additionally, haunting is Loaded’s final post to Instagram. Here, he addresses the “most high” asking for forgiveness for his mistakes, and asks for “entrance into [his] kingdom.” This is a truly haunting post because we now know that it was an official goodbye to the public.
“This kid was on a great path”
While we mourn his passing, what better way to respect his life than to take a look at his recent accomplishments. He released two albums in 2020, ‘A Demon in Blue’ and ‘CRIPTAPE.’ Loaded is most famous for the album and song called ‘6locc 6a6y,’ the song having been certified gold. He also has notable collaborations with Polo G, NLE Choppa, and YG. Certainly a rising star in his lane of rap.
Regardless of whatever issues he was dealing with, we are sad to see Lil Loaded go. The factor of suicide emphasizes the fact how much attention we need to pay to celebrity mental health. If we’re seeing an icon undergo troubles, the chances are it’s even more serious behind the scenes. We can only hope to learn from the story of Lil Loaded, rest in power.
