Jason Lee spoke on newly released podcast episode on Hollywood unlocked and spills a few sips of tea stating that Megan Thee Stallion was fighting at one of Mike Rubin’s parties with super model Winnie Harlow. He admitted to not knowing the extent of the altercation therefore he carried on, not getting too much into details about what started the fight.
Jason claims there’s video of the said altercation (at the 1 hour 4 minute mark of his podcast), and has texted the two lady stars, along with the Hollywood Unlocked staff we are all waiting the visual proof and alleged details.

Rapper Tory Lanez has released his first statement since being sentenced for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. The Canadian is continuing to emphasize that he is innocent. “I will never let no jail time eliminate me,” says Lanez. He continues by adding, “Regardless of how they try to spin my words – I have always maintained my innocence, and I always will.”
Tory Lanez Takes “Some Responsibility”
Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, says he is only taking responsibility “for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved… That’s it.” He believes he has been “wrongfully convicted.” Peterson has previously told the court otherwise.
The “Chixtape” singer concludes the statement with a quote, “Tough times don’t last – tough people do.” Tory Lanez also thanks his family, friends and fans for their continued support. Plus, the songwriter is selling merchandise as he does time in prison on his website ForeverUmbrella.com.
The new statement is contradicting as Daystar Peterson told the court he took “full responsibility” for what he did on July 12, 2020. Prosecutors reached for a 13-year prison sentence, but legally the “Penthouse Red” rapper was eligible for up to 22. Tory Lanez would have qualified for probation if the judge discovered unusual circumstances. However, the only unusual thing about this case was that two famous people were involved – and he did not consider this a factor.
Bun B Continues To Support Megan Thee Stallion
Rap Legend Bun B reacted to the recent news of Lanez’s sentencing. He told TMZ it was a “wake-up call for violence against women.” The hip-hop icon went on to say this case is a “lesson for society… and less about hip-hop culture.” After the shooting took place, the Texas rapper was one of the only few public figures to publicly defend Megan Pete. At the time, Bun B shared an hour-long video in which he criticized others for not supporting the “Simon Says” performer. Popular public figures have supported Pete, like Halle Berry, JoJo, Kehlani, and Chance The Rapper.

Today, June 8, 2023, the court handed down a decision regarding Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez’s criminal proceedings. And Tory Lanez has been sentenced to ten years for his involvement with the shooting of Megan Pete, otherwise known as Megan “Thee Stallion.”
Look Back at Tory Lanez vs. Megan Thee Stallion
Today concludes a public drama dating back to 2020, with Megan Thee Stallion being shot in the feet after a party. On the night in question, Meg was shot outside of Kylie Jenner’s residence.
Meg Thee Stallion did not name Lanez as the assailant initially. However, she later came forward on social media.
Megan cited her fear of the police as a rationale for the information delay.
The explanation reads as this, “I’m scared. All this shit going on with the police…The police is shooting motherfuckers for anything. The police were literally killing Black people for no motherfucking reason.”
The Long Road to Justice
What followed was a period Megan Thee Stallion would define as “hell.” Over the last three years, the artist has found herself in a defensive posture, enduring re-victimization. Finally, last year Meg came forward detailing her battles as she was waiting for justice to render.
For Megan Thee Stallion, it seemed justice could not come swiftly enough as she sat under intense scrutiny, including repeated character assassination in the court of public opinion.
The Course of Justice
Initially, Lanez entered a plea of not guilty. However, the evidence bore greater weight, leading a jury to find him guilty of three felony charges. After initial proceedings, Lanez faced a sentence of up to 22 years and eight months maximum for the crime. Lanez also faced the possibility of deportation.
However, the prosecution sought 13 years. And Lanez’s legal team sought a shorter sentence and made attempts to make a case for probation. The basis of their argument is that “Lanez has alcohol abuse disorder, anxiety, and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) because of the death of his mother when he was eleven.”
However, this argument didn’t bear out. According to NBC News, Lanez’s legal defense even made attempts to sway the judgment by presenting the artist’s charitable works and his” family life.” But justice won out.
Lanez Receives Sentence
Reportedly before sentencing, Lanez made his address to the court. Part of that address was an apology. Lanez reportedly said, “If I could change it, I would, but I can’t. Everything I did that night. I take full responsibility. I truly am just trying to be a better person.”
And with that, the court issued Tory Lanez a ten-year sentence.

Today’s sentencing signifies the end of a pressing drama, one that assuredly Megan Thee Stallion is happy to have behind her. The greater lesson here for us all is that no matter who you are, you can’t escape the reach of justice. So with that, hopefully, both parties can find the healing they need.
Fans of Megan Thee Stallion have been awaiting her return to the studio, especially with another hot summer approaching. However, it was revealed yesterday that Megan Thee Stallion, otherwise known as Megan Pete, had some sobering news for fans of her music. But given her rationale, no one can be mad.

Fans are very familiar with the tumultuous journey that Megan Thee Stallion has undergone. This was because of an altercation with Tory Lanez, which led to a dramatic saga that played out in the court of public opinion and later in the halls of justice. During the wild and contentious period, she stood vulnerable to the varied opinions and unsolicited advisement of others who could never walk a mile in her shoes. Instyle published their recent interview with Megan yesterday, and an interesting revelation was brought to light. While her fans were aware of her healing journey, there was still much uncertainty around the possibility of new music. But the star clarified everything in her discourse with InStyle. According to the performing artist, fans must wait a little longer for new music. Why? Because currently, her health and healing are her first priority. In the words of Megan Thee Stallion,
“Fans can expect new music when I’m in a better place. Right now, I’m focused on healing.”
Of course, no further explanation was needed, but the artist took the time to express why she feels the way she does. As most can guess, she pointed out the tediousness of working in the industry, emphasizing “the grind.” And her rationale is perfectly understandable. Rest, refocus, and recalibration are essential in any industry where efforts to excel take a significant toll.
What is Megan Thee Stallion Up To
While music is not on the table currently, it does not mean that the star isn’t focusing her energies on other projects. Megan is currently in a partnership with Revlon Cosmetics and has been doing so since 2020. However, now she is focusing on this endeavor and rest and relaxation. As InStyle noted, her downtime includes:
“spending time with her dogs, working out, bingeing TV shows, and simply finding new ways to protect her peace.”
Bringing it All Together
This means no new music from Megan Thee Stallion in the very near future. And that’s okay. In a world where pressures and the tension of meeting mounting expectations seem to increase, vulnerability isn’t easy. Recently Meagan Pete, also known as Megan Thee Stallion, sat down with Elle magazine. The artist tipped her cup, pouring out her soul in this intimate session. Meg was fully transparent in her rationale for the interview at this place and time. She did it to heal, put some things in perspective, and finally put it behind her.
As Meg pointedly notes, she is not her trauma. “For the sake of her mental health, she has no plans to keep reliving the most traumatic experience of her life. She’s choosing to change the narrative.”
Megan Thee Stallion Talks Lessons From Childhood
Megan began the conversation by recalling her childhood. She spoke of growing up believing others’ intentions were pure. While that seems like something one is taught, it’s not. Having too big of a heart is a byproduct of character. Wanting to seek out the best in others was innate to Meg’s character.
But Megan’s parents made attempts to stand as a buffer, trying to instill in her the necessity for discernment and protecting her heart. But as with most empathic souls, her nature overrode her senses and any lessons others attempted to impart.
As Meg’s life progressed, as with many others, she struggled to understand the gap between her pure heart and others’ intentions. But life can cement lessons we don’t quite grasp. As she aptly relayed,
“Over the years, she realized certain people didn’t need a logical reason to be hateful or mean, but because of her sympathetic side, still she wanted to give others the benefit of the doubt.”
Fundamentally this would equate to perpetual hurt.
Chickens Come Home To Roost
According to Megan Thee Stallion, her altercation with Tory Lanez and the experiences that followed finally drove home the lessons. “Unfortunately, it took until this devastating experience to fully grasp the magnitude of my parents’ message back then,” Megan said.
Like many, Meg’s trajectory culminated in suffering the disgrace of public opinion and scrutiny. Unfortunately, the artist was also under undue pressure from unexpected sources. Sadly, her victimization did not end with the wound she sustained. That was only the beginning.
Megan Talks Spiraling Down
According to the artist, during the time when she was down was when most unbelievably, many began to turn on her. It’s a narrative that is all too common.
Meg went on to say, “Even some of her peers in the music industry piled on with memes, jokes, and sneak disses. They were completely ignoring that she could have lost her life. Rather than condemning any form of violence against a woman, these individuals attempted to justify her attacker’s actions.” That depth of pain is often challenging to bounce back from.
Tracks Of Her Tears
Megan admits that many were unaware of the depth of her pain. Simply because she wore a smile and continued to pour herself into her work, somehow, that was synonymous with healing. As many are intimately familiar, that is hardly ever the case.

Smokey Robinson summed this beautifully in his masterwork “Tracks of My Tears.” If people would take the time to look a little bit closer, they could see the tracks left by the hurt and pain. Not even the brightest smile can hide such.
Megan Talks Getting Back Up
But through all the pain and depths of depression, Megan held it together as best she could. The artist stood firm in her truth despite many turning a deaf ear and forcing their eyes shut. Meg even spoke about the feeling when hearing the verdict passed down against Lanez.
“It was a victory for every woman who been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them.”
Recovery Is A Beast
Megan admits that she has been in a recovery stage. She’s been putting in the work to heal. And healing is a process. But now that she is taking her journey to self-healing, she is in a better place. However, better doesn’t mean that the pain doesn’t linger. It means it hurts a lot less.
“But that’s the process of healing,” Megan notes. “It’s an ongoing process with moments of fear and uncertainty mixed in with blissful realization.” It’s what one must go through on the road to becoming. It makes you stronger and more resilient.
Always A Light
Megan Thee Stallion’s interview was a moving piece. Each word was like a fragment of her soul. Although some shards were sharp, they cut in the right places. They cut in the areas that let the light in so that many others who read her narrative can also begin to heal.
And It is with hope Meg can get the peace she deserves with this cleansing, and finally, this will be laid to rest. Above all, she deserves the space to heal. But we honor her for carving out a little time to uplift others in her healing process.

Sunday night (Mar 12) kicked off the 95th Academy Awards and, subsequently, the Vanity Fair after-party. One of the most viral attendees of the night was Megan Thee Stallion, who performed a unique rendition of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” at last year’s ceremony.
“F–k Y’all Hoes, Bye,” Megan Said
While mingling at the after-party, Megan Thee Stallion faced questions about the possibility of the new album on the horizon by Entertainment Tonight.
“Oh, I am, new album, f–k y’all hoes, bye,” Megan replied jokingly. The “Plan B” rapper didn’t offer any additional details, but Meg’s last project, “Traumazine,” was released nearly a year ago and is certainly due for a follow-up. “Traumazine” is Megan’s 2nd studio album, and most successful with 63,000 units sold and a #4 debut on Billboard 200. The biggest hits from that album include ‘Sweetest Pie’ with Dua Lipa and “Ungrateful” featuring Key Glock.
A brief new album teaser wasn’t the only thing Megan Thee Stallion revealed during her interview. The Houston rapper also spilled about nabbing tickets to Beyonces upcoming “Renaissance Tour.” The fellow Houston icon announced her 41-show tour in February, and the internet has been reeling nonstop ever since.
Luckily for Megan, she has Beyoncé on speed dial. “They gon’ be hatin’ on me, but I got ’em,” Meg exclaimed. “Oh baby, you know I called up them directly: ‘Beyoncé, lemme get a ticket!'”
Bey and Meg’s friendship first blossomed after the two joined forces for the ‘Savage Remix’ back in 2020. The collab was Megan’s first ever #1 hit and began a long streak of good fortune with the charts. Then came “WAP” and “Thot Sh-t,” which further thrust Meg into the spotlight and cemented her spot as a newcomer in the rap game.

It’s no secret that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are high-profile hip-hop artists. When their names make headlines, people take notice. They were as explosive as T.N.T. when collaborating for the “W.A.P.”
In a recent interview, Robert Townsend revealed that two mega-stars had hinted at pairing up again if possible. But in what way? A statement from Townsend to an entertainment outlet stated that Megan and Cardi are interested in taking on the role of the center stars of a remake of a favorite cult classic, “B*A*P*S” (Black American Princesses).
What is “B*A*P*S?”

It is a 1997 film directed by industry veteran Robert Townsend, starring Halle Berry and the late Natalie Desselle Reid. In the movie, Nisi and Mickey are two girls looking for their next big step. They were raw, wild, and unrefined by high-class standards, but they were ultra-ambitious and comfortable in their skin. They were Black American Princesses. It had such a great cast; it was worth the watch. And the fact that Townsend’s name was attached to it didn’t hurt.
Cardi And Megan’s “B*A*P*S” Request
During a recent interview with a film outlet, Townsend discussed his 1987 directorial debut and its relevance today. In the interview, he talked about the phenomenon of the film “B*A*P.S.”
Among the film’s fans, only some liked it at the time. Given the movie’s nature, that’s not surprising. The film aligned with cult classics like “Meteor Man” and “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” Inarguably, they were not your classic films.
However, they had just the right amount of satire and drama, which worked. The filmmaker went on to mention some solicitations he has received regarding a remake of the film. Among them, Cardi B. and Megan Thee Stallion expressed interest. Townsend’s statement went something like this:
“I’ve had people go, ‘Hey, we want to do a remake.’ Everybody from Megan Thee Stallion to Cardi B is like, ‘Could we do….’ I mean, it’s like, I don’t know. So, thank you for asking.”

Robert Townsend is well known for his contribution to the culture. Since 1987, Townsend’s directorial work has spanned a wide range of films, including “Hollywood Shuffle,” “Carmen: A Hip-Hopera,” and “Meteor Man.”
But his credits in the television industry are even more extensive. Townsend has served as a director on such series favorites as “The Parent Hood,” “Soul Food,” “Love Is,” “American Soul,” “The Wonder Years,” “The Best Man: The Final Chapters,” and “Kaleidoscope.” So, it’s no secret Townsend stays busy.
What About A Remake?
As for a remake, everything needs to be verified. But one can’t deny that Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion reprising the roles of Berry and Reid would be quite the spectacle. And given their appearances in other films and series, they have the chops to pull it off. Plus, there is something magical about Hollywood and fandom. When they mix, anything can happen. And as Townsend relayed to Slash Films, he’s not thinking of finishing contributing to the industry. In the words of Townsend,
“Let me say this: I have so many ideas in my brain. The well is full, not dry. The well is full. So, it’s just trying to get everything out of my head. I’ve got an active slate of movies and television shows, and they’re all really different. So, you’ll be hearing.”

This past Friday, Tory Lanez was found guilty of the 2020 shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion. He faces up to 22 years in prison.
The Jury Convicts
Lanez was met with the damning verdict after pleading not guilty to assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence. Megan Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, first accused Lanez back in august 2020. The Houston rapper went live on Instagram and claimed Lanez shot her as she was walking off from a heated argument.
“You shot me,” she stated. “And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and sh*t. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.”
Now, almost three years later, the two have finally battled it out in court. It’s been a chaotic case, with confessions of a sexual relationship between Pete and Lanez, an extremely confusing testimony from Kelsey, and a shocking recount from one of the defense’s witnesses. Nonetheless, the jury came to a unanimous decision: guilty on all counts.
According to several reports from inside the courtroom, the reaction from Tory’s family was immediate and severe. Particularly, Lanez parents seemed to be the most outspoken.
A jury has convicted Tory Lanez of all three charges for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. A crazy and downright scary scene in the courtroom as his father and stepmother screamed about wicked injustice.
Tory Lanez’s father stood up guest and screamed. “This is a wicked system!” He screamed at the prosecutors that they are evil and they know exactly what they did here. His stepmother stood up screaming and yelling. Father was yelling about “Roc Nation.”
Based on accounts from the courtroom in addition to video footage captured right after the verdict, Tory’s family is blaming Roc Nation for their son’s fate. Namely, Jay-Z and Beyonce’s names came up several times in post-verdict videos.
“Beyonce and Jay-Z You have children! You’re making other people’s children go to jail. You have kids, God is watching all of you,” Luella Peterson, Tory’s mother yelled at reporters on Friday.
“And they never produced the prints, no fingerprints, not one! Tell me how the bullets disappeared in the LAPD’s office, tell me how there’s no fingerprints,” Sonstar Peterson, Tory’s father exclaimed.
“Roc Nation you will crumble, I am an apostle of God, and you will know who I am.” He finished.
Perhaps the most shocking and unexpected objection to the verdict came from Tory’s little sister. Apparently, the young girl attended court proceedings and is also accusing Roc Nation of tampering with the trial.
“Roc Nation tried to mess with my brother’s reputation!” She yelled before being led away by her parents.
These clips have since gone viral, with many mocking the father’s impassioned speech and criticizing the choice to bring such a young child to a courtroom.
For now, Tory Lanez remains in Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail awaiting his sentencing. His only option now is to appeal the charges.

Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard has technically not gone missing. The LAPD spoke with TMZ to report that there is no open case set for the rapper’s bodyguard. His real name is Justin Edison, and his alleged disappearance has yet to get to the point where the police would classify Edison as missing.
Her attorney Alex Spiro tweeted earlier that Edison had disappeared right before he was to head into court to testify. “We recently learned thatJustin Edisonwent missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court,” Spiro tweeted. “The LAPD is currently looking into his disappearance and welcomes any information about his whereabouts.”
There are also reports that Edison’s attorney has yet to hear from Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard since the incident, as he potentially has valuable information.
Justin Edison Might Have Valuable Information
According to The Shade Room, Megan’s former best friend Kelsey Harris texted Edison “Help” shortly after the incident. According to testimony, Harris also let Edison know that Tory “shot” Megan. The report also claims that Edison allegedly admitted that Tory apologized to him for shooting Megan. Edison has not been active on social media since his disappearance.
Megan’s Bestie, Kelsey Harris, Speaks Out
Megan Thee Stallion’s now former best friend Kelsey Harris testified last Thursday and backtracked her initial story from her a few months ago. In an interview in September, Harris stated that Tory Lanez did shoot her that night. Months later, Harris testified that “her team told me she stepped on glass.”
Harris has denied all claims that Lanez had paid her before her appearance. The reports claim Lanez had offered Harris a million dollars to not tell authorities he had shot her.
The trial on the July 2020 incident began on December 12. Tory Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, is currently on trial for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot after an argument broke between the two.
The highly publicized trial between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez has begun. Here is a rundown of all of the details that are currently known.
On the night of July 12, 2020, Stallion, her bodyguard, Kelsey Harris, and Lanez were riding around LA when an argument happened. As the details are still being sorted out, we do not know exactly what the argument was about. However, Lanez’s defense team is suggesting that it was between Stallion and Harris concerning Stallion’s jealousy of Kylie Jenner. The group was partying with her earlier in the day. The defense is trying to suggest that the shooter was Harris.
Both Stallion and Harris claim that Lanez is the shooter. Stallion even claims that Lanez yelled “Dance, bitch!” as he shot her in the foot. However, this is something that Lanez denies happening.
Harris had texted the bodyguard that Lanez had shot Stallion and to call 911. When the police showed up, she claimed that she was wounded by broken glass. When asked about it later, she said that she did not want the police to act erratically. Tory Lanez was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
After the incident, up to the trial
Hours later, Lanez had texted Stallion, apologizing to her. However, he claims that he was apologizing for cheating on her. He has since claimed the two were dating before, and he was caught cheating. This is going directly against Stallion’s words back in April, where she claimed that they were not seeing each other like that.
In August 2020, Stallion went to social media to confirm that Lanez had shot her that night. He was charged with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm—personal use of a firearm—and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Lanez pleads not guilty, something that he maintains to this day.
In April, he was taken back into custody after he violated a restraining order on the case. In an unrelated case, Lanez was sentenced to house arrest.
On December 12, the Megan Thee Stallion trial had begun.
