Expectations For Lil Baby’s New Release

Overall, Lil Baby is on fire right now and is one of the leading artists in Hip-Hop today. He’s managed to gain tons of mainstream success while balancing out his street appeal with his commercial reach. His last solo album went No. 1 on Billboard charts selling almost 200,000 copies in its first week. Baby’s only gotten bigger since that release and even went No. 1 again with Lil Durk last year.

Lil Baby’s ‘My Turn’ Set A Record After Spending Weeks On The Billboard Charts

Lil Baby’s album My Turn continues to do well. It came out in February 2020 and hit No.1 on the Billboard 200. After staying on the charts for five weeks, it went triple platinum. To keep things rolling, the Atlanta native hit us with the deluxe edition in May 2020.

‘My Turn’ by Lil Baby Accumulated Major Success

On Mar 17, Billboard said the album broke a 55-year-old record. My Turn remained in the top 10 of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for 85 weeks. Since 1965, this is the only album to have spent this long at the top of this chart. Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding held the record with 84 weeks before Lil Baby broke it. Overall, My Turn spent 106 weeks on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. This project had several hits in the top 10, including “Woah,” “Sum 2 Prove”, “Heatin’ Up,” and “The Bigger Picture.”

On Instagram, Lil Baby made a post saying “My turn again,” following fire emojis.

Even though Lil Baby is enjoying his success, he said he might release another full-length album this summer. The rapper will release a music video every few weeks before his release.

Lil Durk’s ‘7220’ and King Von’s Death

Baby’s announcement comes right after Lil Durk’s album 7220, which came out on Mar 11. Morgan Wallen, Future, Gunna, and Summer Walker, appear on his seventh studio album. 7220 is Durk’s grandmother’s street address and reflects a tough year. Since the death of King Von, the Chicago native has been locked in a war against NBA YoungBoy. Von was shot and killed outside of a hookah lounge in Atlanta in 2020 after a fight with Quando Rondo‘s team.

Post Malone, now Lil Baby? Let’s see which artist will break the record for the most extended stay on the charts next.
