Fiery Hazardous Ohio Train Derailment

Around 50 train cars derailed in a fiery crash the night of Feb 3, 2023, near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. Ten of the train cars in the derailment also carried hazardous materials.

The train derailment occurred near East Palestine, Ohio — also home to around 5,000 people.

Ohio Residents Ordered To Evacuate

Additionally, officials decided to release and burn chemicals from five tankers. The tankers were filled with vinyl chloride, so residents were ordered to evacuate. The air then got filled with hydrogen chloride and phosgene. Authorities also warned the toxic gas would plume across the region.

Evacuation Order Lifted From East Palestine

The evacuation order ended Wednesday in East Palestine, Ohio. The village’s fire chief said that air and water samples determined that the evacuation era was safe for residents.

Air Testing In Community

Mayor Trent Conaway also notified the community the Environmental Protection Agency is air testing. This occurred after complaints from the community of a lingering odor.

Risk Of Water Contamination In Ohio?

In addition, the community’s police are warning that Norfolk Southern will reach out to residents with individual wells. They may be at risk of water contamination.

But there is some other news occurring surrounding this event…

Meet The Ratner Family

Also, CNN introduced us to Ben Ratner and his family. They signed up to be extras in the Netflix film “White Noise” in 2021. Ratner’s family is from East Palestine, Ohio.

Movie Based On Novel

“White Noise” was based on a novel by Don DeLillo and is by filmmaker Noah Baumbach. The movie is a dramedy about a family struggling with love, death, and an environmental disaster. The 2022 film “White Noise” stars Adam Driver and Don Cheadle.

Movie Mirroring Real Life

Ratner told CNN, “the first half of the movie is all almost exactly what’s going on here [in East Palestine].”

The family in “White Noise” was also affected by an “airborne toxic event.” It seems that life is imitating art these days (or maybe art imitates life?).

Renz Scruggs To Drop Visual For “Miami” On June 5th

On Saturday, Renz Scruggs intends to drop a music video for his song “Miami.” Inspired by the sunny state, he decided to create a solid banger that encompasses his love for the Cuban resident-based city.

“Creating the new song was like second nature,” he explains. “I’ve been fascinated with Miami since I was young. I wrote the song and only have been to Miami for maybe 2 hours at the time. One of my boys knew how much I loved Miami because I would always say, ‘I’m getting rich and moving to Miami.’ So he wrote the hook because he knew my love for Miami.”

Surprisingly, Renz Scruggs never visited Miami until he wrote the song. He scoped out the traffic cameras for a year to properly envision it.

The upcoming visual will serve as a homage to the lively city. It takes place at the same garage that Chris Brown and Drake was while filming a music video for their smash hit, “No Guidance.” This scene seemingly corresponds with Renz Scrugg’s musical styling and the respect he has for both musicians.

The North East, Ohio-native continues by saying:

“I accept Miami for everything it is, and I appreciate it so much.”

“Miami” is undoubtedly a signal of Renz Scruggs being present in the music scene and how it’s his for the taking.

“The message behind this song is how a city like Miami makes a kid from northeast Ohio feel. Daydreaming of one day being in Miami, then finally it happens. And it’s everything you thought it would be.”

Another Child Killed By the Hands of the Police

Ma’Khia Bryant Another Victim of the Kill Squad

It is a somber world.  Ma’Khia Bryant was shot and killed by a police officer.  Four bullets went into her body.  Police firearm training teaches officers to shoot until the threat is over.  Ma’Khia Bryant was a minor female, any reasonable person knows that it doesn’t take many hollow point bullets to stop one minor female.  On police officer body cam footage viewers see there was an altercation between Ma’Khia and another young lady; however, the officer decided to use deadly force before asking Bryant to drop the weapon she brandished.  Is that what the justice system considers justified?

How is Columbus Going to Handle Another Killing?

In a press conference, a question was posed.  “Can an officer shoot a leg…?”  The interim Chief of Police answered the question, by stating officers train to shoot the center mass of the body.

The city of Columbus, Ohio has a right to be hurt, they have a right to be mad, and they have a right to flood Mayor Andrew Ginther with letters and calls to make them hold the officers involved in that shooting accountable.  We live in a world now where when the police are called out to an altercation,  the ambulance should follow along, because someone’s probably going to die.

This killing came just moments after George Floyd’s family heard the guilty murder conviction of the officer that killed their loved one.  Ma’Khia was only sixteen years old when she was killed. This young lady had a story to tell, and now her words have been forever silenced.

According to U.S News, LeBron James took down a tweet he made about the killing of Ma’Khia Bryant stating, “I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because it’s being used to create more hate,” the Los Angeles Lakers star said.
