Joe Budden offered his support to NORE’s criticisms on hip-hop artists engaging with non hip-hop media. Recently, NORE sparked a debate over artists who avoid hip-hop media platforms in order to appear on mainstream programs. He even expressed his concerns in a series of tweets.
“I have been the best to this culture I have always put hip-hop first,” he tweeted. “And I see u guys go to Ellen and David Letterman and Zane Lows and treat them wit more respect than the culture but u say u want black excellence.” NORE then took his complaints even further. “Imma be honest even going to Oprah or [Gale] is trash at this point!!! We control our culture why go outside of it!!!”.
In another tweet, NORE questioned why artists would go to non hip hop personalities like Letterman or Ellen as opposed to the many platforms dedicated to hip hop.
David letterman is my favorite but man why go there or Ellen before million dollars worth of game or joe or the champs or even twitter shit!!!

NORE’s tweets started speculation that he was targeting Cardi B who had an appearance on David Letterman’s Netflix show. However, NORE denied this after the Breakfast Club explained that Cardi has supported all platforms that supported her.
Love it wasn’t even talking or thinking bout cardi but love the article https://t.co/4JilOrPDh2

It’s also worth noting that NORE is the co host of his own hip hop podcast, Drink Champs. The show has generated popularity due to their style of long form interviews, most recently with ASAP Rocky and The Game. NORE has spoken on the podcast’s impact, claiming that their November interview with Kanye West mad people “love” him again.
Joe Budden speaks out
Joe Budden, on the other hand, seemingly sided with NORE on the subject of hip hop artists engaging with non hip hop platforms.
“I am a humble servant of hip hop, it only helped raise and teach me still to this day,” Budden tweeted. “Nore hit a few points, a lot of ppl use it as entry way & shed it as soon as they can. Culture was never vying for acceptance, it was always MAKING them accept it, sadly that line is blurred.”
Just a humble servant of Hip Hop, it only helped raise me and teach me still to this day… Nore hit a few points, a lot of ppl use it as entry way & shed it soon as they can. Culture was never vying for acceptance, it was always MAKING them accept it, sadly that line is blurred.
