A woman’s purse can tell a lot about her and her lifestyle. It’s like a real life Barney bag. It holds the necessities, the habitual things, and the odd commodities. We know from digging in our own mother’s purse, that a woman’s purse seems bottomless. Sometimes we just never know what we might find in there. A bag can tell whether a woman is headed to work, the beach, shopping, the gym or just heading out with the girls for the night. But what’s inside can tell a lot more than just where you’re headed for the day.

Personally in my bag, I always have to have lip balm, my cell phone, a charger on some days, keys, and of course some money and a metro card. But when I look into my mothers bag, she has open envelopes from bills, earrings, different lipsticks, keys, and a pouch for her money, coins all the way at the bottom, pens, and her work I.D. I never realized how spacious a bag can be until I saw dug into her bottomless pit.

A women with a bag that has many compartments like a side pocket or a mini bag attached shows that she’s organized. She likes to put her belongings in certain places so that she can find it later; you know things tend to get lost. Women who also carry a planner or a palm pilot show she’s organized and likes to be prompt when it comes to her life. Although a bag may have pockets, they seem to be oblivious to some women. They end up dumping all their contents into the purse despite the pockets that were put there for a reason. To someone else it may be a pigpen, to her it’s just an organized mess. A bag that has less structure and contains disorganization can mean that the woman is more creative and channeling her inner rebellious hipster side. She’s down with letting life just take it’s course.

Those who carry a makeup bag inside their handbag care about their appearance. These are the women who have to reapply lipstick every hour, and hit the powder room for a makeup check. They have to look their best at all times. Or it could be they just might have plans that night. To my surprise I have also witnessed a purse doubling as a woman’s bag and a baby bag. Full of baby food, spoons, wipes, a back up pacifier and diapers just in case. Motherhood has completely invaded her personal space. Along with the baby stuff, theres the lip gloss, car keys and her last pieces of candy.

Some women carry breath mints or gum, business cards, and hand sanitizer. Meaning they are social beings, prepared to network at any time. You never know who might meet, the woman you were talking to casually, could be a potential client. Regardless of what contents are held in your bag, it all serves a purpose. It plays a role in your day, from your compact to the few pennies drowning at the bottom of your bag.

Females have a tendency to do this thing. I say thing because there’s no specific name for it. It is this prejudice, stereotypical, assumption about other females. I only know because it has happened to me plenty of times. Females judge the female who is confident, into her self, beautiful, fashionable, with the resting bitch face. “She’s stuck up, she’s a bitch, or she thinks she’s all that.” Mean while the girl that’s being judged is nothing like what they make her out to be. She could be the most down to earth, friendly, and modest person. But females are so quick to judge each other off appearance, rather than giving the person a chance.

There are a lot of reasons for the quick judgment given by women. It could be insecurity, intimidation, jealousy or straight up hating. Women fail to support and uplift one another, there is a constant competition going on. Why is it that women feel threatened by those who hold themselves to a higher stature?

Men have been known to compete with one another, whether it is healthy or unhealthy. They compete over the physicality and status of life. Women compete over who has the better clothes, shoes, attractiveness and personality. So of course women are going to feel threatened when one woman has more of a quality than they do. There are five main characteristics that can make a woman a threat to another woman.

Beauty: Being beautiful is both a blessing and a curse. Other females are more likely to make up a reason not to like you because they feel threatened by your looks. Any single female is going to consider you as competition for the most eligible bachelor. Weight also plays a factor in being beautiful, if you have the summer body all year around other girls will be green with envy.
Brains: If you’re beautiful and educated that’s a double threat. It’s intimidating to be around a female that is very into her books. Whether it is library or text book. Especially if you’re friends with her. But this can also motivate you to do better in class, read the newspaper more often and learn some new dictionary words.
Fashion Forward: If you stay up on the latest fashion trends and are giving endless chic-ness then yes, be prepared for the stare downs. You’ll have females wishing they were you with the way you dress.
Confidence: Nothing is wrong with being confident and loving your self. That’s what you should be doing. Confident, is different from being an egotistical bitch always remember that.
Strong personality: Letting everyone know who you are and not being sorry for it can make other women feel intimidated by you. Making it less likely for you to be invited to girls night out, or sleep overs.

If you’re a woman who possesses all of these qualities consider your self a predator and other females the prey. There’s absolutely no reason to feel bad about having desired traits, even if other females don’t like you. You will find a group of females who are just like you, that will uplift you and appreciate you just as much as you appreciate them.
