Rolling Loud Crowd Responds Harshly to DaBaby Peforming in Place of Future

Some people don’t like surprises. For some, a schedule change after the money changes hands can yield a negative response. Yesterday, DaBaby found himself on the receiving end of that disdain.

Make no mistake, people knew DaBaby was set to perform at the 2021 Rolling Loud California Festival yesterday (Sunday, December 12). Indeed, the schedule listed the Charlotte, NC rapper as going on at 10:30 p.m. on the Power 106 Stage in Los Angeles. Over on the Ciroc Stage, rapper Future’s set should have kicked off at 10:00 p.m. However, at 10:00 p.m., there was no Future. Someone else took the stage. Take a wild guess at who showed up.

DaBaby shows up, breaks into his Grammy-nominated hit “Rockstar”, and receives trash. No metaphor there: the audience began pelting him with actual garbage.

Give the man some credit though. It takes a proper performer to take garbage to the face and keep going. Fights and brawls have started over less than that. However, acting the proper performer, DaBaby quickly brought the crowd around. Getting down to the crowd barrier, DaBaby went hard on his 2019 hit “Suge”. Sure enough, the crowd seemed to forget about the pre-scheduled Future. Though Future had his fun with a certain “Kanye West”.

DaBaby: Six months of trouble

Perhaps this a decent ending for DaBaby. To be sure, getting pelted with trash is certainly peanuts compared to the rest of his year.

Back in July, he engineered his own stunning fall from grace at Rolling Loud Miami. It turns out that an ignorant, homophobic rant  is not good for one’s career.

Following that incident, he failed to follow through on his own promises to various LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations.

To top it off, he’s recently had some serious conflict with former girlfriend and mother of his child, DaniLeigh. Indeed, back in November, DaniLeigh was charged with two simple counts assault following an altercation with DaBaby. So again, taking some garbage is very much the theme of DaBaby this year.
