Drake’s “It Was All A Blur Tour”: First Brooklyn Show With A Special Guest

Iconic artist Aubrey “Drake” Graham absolutely put on a show last night. The Canadian was spreading love all throughout his entire performance to his fans, but he stopped in the middle of the show to take a shot of alcohol. So the “Best I Ever Had” rapper walked towards the DJ booth, where the audience was stunned by a special audience member and his family.

The Currys Make An Appearance At Drake’s Show

The jumbotron shows professional basketball player Stephen Curry, his wife Ayesha, and his mom Sonya in the VIP section. The trio was just vibing to the amazing concert Graham was putting on. Sonya Curry looked like she was having the best time as Drake sang to her. Drizzy stopped to give his “look-alike” and the basketball icon a shoutout. “I got my brother in the building tonight. They say we look alike. Make some noise for my brother Steph Curry in the building one time. And of course, the lovely Ayesha Curry and mama bear, you know,” said the Toronto native. The pair have been friends for a while, with the duo even playing ball in the rapper’s backyard.

Review Of The First Show in New York

The “It Was All A Blur Tour” stop was filled with nothing but love and genuine vibes. There was even a point where Drake made audience members hug someone they did not know in between a song. He wanted everyone to feel comfortable and spread the love that his audience was giving him. He started out the setlist with “Look What You’ve Done” on the album “Take Care.” The “Miss Me” rapper walked through the audience and acknowledged his fans with a smile on his face. He eventually sat next to what looked like a younger version of himself as he rapped the 2011 track. The “kid Drake” appeared throughout the show as popular shows like Family Matters and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air played on the jumbotron. The fans were ecstatic though when one particular show appeared on the screen, which Aubrey Graham appeared on the screen playing basketball. The show was obviously Degrassi.

21 Savage came to the stage towards the latter half of the concert. He came with a different energy to the stage that got the audience turnt up on another level. The Atlanta rapper performed classics like “Bank Account” and “X.”

Tour Dates in New York

His first stop in Brooklyn, New York was Chef’s kiss. I imagine it will only get better from here. He has three more shows at Barclays Center on July 18, 20, and 21. Plus he has three more shows at Madison Square Garden on July 23, 23, and 26.

Steph Curry Has Fan Do 30 Pushups For Autograph

Steph Curry has been living his best life lately. The NBA superstar is coming off winning his fourth title in eight years, and he’s certainly been enjoying the offseason. Curry has been taking part in his favorite pastime, golf, including a celebrity event in Lake Tahoe, California.

Plenty of basketball fans came out to watch Curry participate. One fan in particular got lucky when he approached the Warriors star hoping to get his jersey signed. However, Steph’s signature came with a catch.

Steph Curry told the fan that he could get the autograph if he did 30 pushups, the same number as Curry’s iconic jersey. The fan immediately did as instructed, and in the end, managed to complete all 30 pushups. The interaction was captured on video, and Steph seemed to be enjoying every moment of it.

Eventually, Curry granted the fan’s wish and signed the jersey while he was in the midst of his pushups. The encounter managed to draw laughs from all in the crowd.

How Steph Curry has been celebrating

As mentioned, Chef Curry has been living it up since winning his fourth championship last month. Shortly after the Warriors championship parade, Steph was seen partying at a club. Footage of the Finals MVP chugging a bottle of tequila made its way to the Internet. Curry was also captured sharing a dance with his wife Ayesha.

But partying hasn’t been the only way the NBA star has celebrated. Two days after his club appearance, the 2x MVP took his family to a theme park in Santa Clara, California. Photos show Steph enjoying time with his kids, even getting on a few rides.

Curry has also been hitting the green, taking part in celebrity golf tournaments. The event involving the fan incident included celebs such as Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas and Anthony Anderson. Famous athletes included Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley, Vince Carter and Patrick Mahomes.

Brooklyn Nets Star Kevin Durant Comments On The Warriors Winning The NBA Finals In His Absence

In Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics to claim their fourth championship since 2015. Kevin Durant commented on the Warriors’ recent triumph. It could be that one troll at a time may be tarnishing the legacy of Kevin Durant following his first-round sweep by the same team Golden State defeated in the NBA Finals. Durant was a member of the Warriors from 2016 to 2019 and helped lead the team to two NBA championships.

Kevin Durant will have to contend that he now has two fewer rings than Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. On June 17, Durant tweeted: “I been dead since July 4th 2016, but congrats to the dubs and my boy Steezy, a Fillmore legend, man been waitin his whole life for a parade on market st.”

Furthermore, on June 13, he tweeted that he does not believe he struggles as a basketball player. A hater responded with the statement: “You shot 22-83, 7-21 from 3 and had 21 turnovers in a sweep. You for sure struggled in that series vs Boston.”

Durant appeared unfazed by the insult and took the jab with ease. Read Durant’s back and forth on Twitter below.

Kevin Durant’s Team Lost In The First Round

For the series, Stephen Curry led all scorers with 31.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals. Durant’s Brooklyn Nets were the victims of a sweep by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. As a result, they watched the game from home after losing to the Celtics.

In addition, KD was told by a fan that he’s among the top 5 players in the league and reminded that others’ opinions are useless.

KD Involved In A Kobe Bryant Debate

In recent days, however, KD found himself involved in an argument about Kobe Bryant. Also, about Kobe’s attitude between winning three in a row and two additional victories after Shaq left. The fan noted that KD’s approach to the game is “At every facet of the game – and the height you’ve achieved is perhaps the highest anybody ever has.”

The fan continued, “Kobe is my favorite player ever – the diff between him in 05-06 vs 08-09 as an example is he imprinted his personality on every single player.”

Against The Odds Golden State Wins The Title-But Does That Make Steph Curry A GOAT?

Steph Curry and Golden State showed up and out last night, snagging their fourth NBA title. In just eight years the team has fought hard. And against all the obstacles and injuries they faced they came together to finish the series in six games against the Boston Celtics. On top of the NBA Championship title, last night Steph Curry won his first Finals MVP award. According to many NBA fans clinching this award makes Steph Curry a GOAT. But is that the truth? Does simply winning that trophy one time make him one of the greats of all time?

Why Are Fans Calling Curry A GOAT?

Immediately after Curry was handed the Bill Russel award fans took to Twitter. Putting Curry on the list of the top ten greatest players of all time. But some disagree. Without a doubt Curry has earned the right to be brought up in these conversations. The man has four championships, a finals MVP award, and is one of the greatest shooters.

Some of the comments that caught attention were, “My guy deserves everything, built this Warriors franchise and made it a Dynasty! TOP 10 ALL TIME GREAT!” “Steph Curry is officially sitting at the table with Jordan, Bron, Kobe, Shaq, Magic, and Bird!!!” On top of these comments, some fans even claim that Curry has now tarnished LeBron’s title as the GOAT and is going to surpass him. But still people are going back saying that  Steph Curry may be a GOAT when it comes to shooting. But he can’t control the game like other players, LeBron included, can. Many argue that there is a lot more to the game than shooting. Doubters of Curry’s seat at the GOAT table bring up his inability to rebound as well as his impact and control of the game. Only time will tell where Curry will end up on that list.

Regardless, Golden State and Curry deserve this, Congratulations to the entire franchise!

Lil Durk Compares Himself To Steph Curry After Excellent 7220 Sales

The results are in: 7220 is a hit. Lil Durk is getting real cocky and absolutely has the numbers to back it up.

Durk does it again

7220 dropped on all streaming services on March 11th and was met with great reception. Durk’s seventh studio album comes at a peak time of his career. The Chicago rapper is gaining accolades and accomplishments by the second, and 7220 is just another mark on the list.

While 2021’s The Voice Of The Heroes is technically Durk’s first No. 1 album, 7220 is his first solo effort to claim the title. Blogger DJ Akademiks shared  last week (Mar. 19) that 7220 had sold a stunning 120k units in its first week.

A No. 1 solo album is a highly sought-after accomplishment for any artist, and it’s well deserved for the Englewood emcee. Durk’s presence in the rap game has been truly growing since the success of his 2019 album Love Songs 4 the Streets 2. His signature mix of singing and rapping easily set him apart from his contemporaries and obviously continues to now. With co-signs from big names in hip hop discourse, especially Kanye and Drake, Lil Durk is on the track to stardom.

Upon learning of these stats Durkio hopped on Twitter to flex his muscles. He likened himself to Steph Curry who’s particularly known for his amazing shooting record. With his recent run, we can’t say he’s wrong for the comparison.

“ I can’t miss I’m like steph fr,” he typed.

What’s your favorite track from 7220? You can stream the album on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube now.

If you thought Durk was done, he just released a new track; “Computer Murders.” This track is presumably a response to opps and slick dissing.

Steph Curry Shares New Extended Interview of Nipsey Hussle

Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry is taking his shot at podcasting. Launching yesterday, Curry’s 15 Minutes From Home is a different take on an old format. Each episode takes place following a Warriors game in which Curry rides home with a celebrity guest. The first guest on the show was supreme funny man, Kevin Hart, taking part in a two-episode chat. Subsequent episodes feature names like Georgia politician and activist Stacey Abrams, and actor-musician Daveed Diggs. However, episode three features a legend gone too soon: Nipsey Hussle.

Back in 2018, Curry made an episode with Hussle for his previous series, 5 Minutes From Home. The episode racked up over 2.5 million views on YouTube, and fans wanted more. However, Hussle was gunned down just eight months later in South Los Angeles, aged 33.

Now, more than three years later, Curry has released an unheard recording of the two from back in 2018.

Curry and Hussle Revisited

The two discuss Hussle’s past in Los Angeles. The rapper talks about growing up in “the peak” of unforgiving south-central Los Angeles. Hussle says that the 1992 Rodney King riots “happened in our backyard”, leaving the eight-year old Nipsey with memories of flames and destruction. Still, Hussle persevered, started rapping over Snoop Dogg beats and attending open mics in his teens.

At the time of recording, Hussle’s final album Victory Lap was in production. In fact, it was his debut album and the only released in his lifetime. Regarding the album, the road to it, and the devastating highs and lows on the way, Hussle tells Curry:

“I’m sure in your own way you can relate to looking at basketball, from not being a professional, just being a young kid with a dream and being somebody that got a passion for the game and then looking at where you’re standing now.

And for you to tell that story and to flashback to that young version of yourself and re-identify with those emotions — that’s how I look at the album… I wanted to be a rapper. I wanted to speak on a platform. And all the process to get here, that shit wasn’t no straight line. It was ups and downs and setbacks. I would assume as an athlete, you deal with injuries, politics in sports but when you get to where you’re going and take a moment to step back, that’s what I look at [Victory Lap] as. The reflection.”

The All-NBA Selections Are Out!

It’s that time again!

Midway through the playoffs, the NBA treated fans to revealing the All-NBA teams last night.  With a league packed with the world’s best players, the picks are always debatable, but let’s take a look at the overall consensus.

Holding it down on the First team, the highest honor, we have an unsurprising list of five. There’s, of course, this year’s MVP, Nikola “The Joker” Jokic, holding the starting center position. Kawhi Leonard and Giannis Antetokounmpo at forward, rounded off by the world’s greatest shooter, Steph Curry, and Luka Doncic as the guards. At age 22, this is Doncic’s second consecutive season making the first team, truly a prodigy of the game.

The second team is centered by Joel Embiid, the runner-up for the MVP award. Julius Randle and LeBron James are selected for forward, with LeBron setting a record at 17 career selections. The guards are very deservingly Chris Paul and Damian Lillard, though many feel that Dame deserves the first team.

Finally, in the honorable third team, we see defensive beast Rudy Gobert at center. Paul George edges his way onto the list as a forward with Jimmy Butler. Bradley Beal represents the Wizards with his guard selection alongside Kyrie Irving, surprisingly the only Brooklyn Net on the list.

The Snubs

With so many brilliant players in the league, there are, of course, some upsets.  Young stars Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Trae Young, and even Zion Williamson all had great looks to make a list but just missed it. The youngest player with the biggest snub is easily Donovan Mitchell, the lovable leader of the Jazz. In terms of veterans, Russell Westbrook also makes the snubs list.

However, the biggest snub has to be Kevin Durant not making any team, despite being arguably the best player in the world.  KD responded to the rankings by singlehandedly coming back on the Bucks, dropping 49 points within his triple-double.  KD is living proof that the lists remain arbitrary.

What do you think of the selections, agree or disagree?  Check out some of our other NBA content here!
