Lil Baby Is Heating Up To Take Over Summer 2022

Lil Baby has been gearing up for the summer releases, He’s been teasing new music for a couple of weeks now.  Yesterday, he put up another new snippet on Instagram.  In this track, Baby samples Drake’s “Pound Cake” song off of his 2013 “Nothing Was the Same” album.  Apparently, he is ready for the summer as he captions #Thissummermines” under the post.

Lil Baby and Jayda

According to Lil Durk, Lil Baby is top 3 in the game right now.  He was on The Full Send podcast when he named himself, Baby, and Kodak Black as the hottest artist in the game at this moment.  While his music is heating up, it looks like his relationship has cooled down.  Jayda Cheaves and Lil Baby have been linked together for years.  They have always been off and on since we’ve known them to be together, but this might be the last straw.  Last week, both were spotted posting subliminal messages on Instagram.  Jayda posts, “Everything comes to an end.  Never force it.  Be happy.”  While Lil Baby posts, “When a MF think they can play wit me.”  I’m sure they will be just fine as they do share a son who just turned three years old.

Baby is Busy

It looks like 2022 is going to be another good year for Baby.  He started this year off collaborating with Nicki Minaj on two songs, “Do We Have a Problem?” and “Bussin” for her upcoming album.  Besides the video snippets on social media, Baby just shot a music video alongside Rob49 for their song “Vulture Island V2”. He was just named as one of the headliners for Lollapalooza 2022 and is set to perform at The McDonald’s All American Halftime Show, both slated to be in Chicago.  Next week, he is set to perform in J.Cole’s Dreamville Festival in Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Following the Dreamville festival, he is scheduled to headline at LSU’s Groovin 2022 concert.

Congrats Lil Baby!

He might be working this hard because of his latest accomplishment.  His 2020 debut album, “My Turn” just broke a new Billboard record.  This month, “My Turn” has been in the top 10 Hip-Hop/R&B album chart for 85 weeks.  No other album has stayed in the top 10 for this long.  He outlasted Post Malone’s 2019 album, “Hollywood’s Bleeding”, which spent time in the top 10 for 84 weeks.  “My Turn” has been on the Billboard chart for over 100 weeks, in which five songs were in the top 10 at one point.

Lil Yachty Brings Back 2016 Vibes with “Love Music”

Lil Yachty Revisited his Lil Boat era with a new song, “Love Music”

Lil Yachty released a new song and music video that had the chill vibes we grew to love in 2016.

“Love Music” is perfect for the summer, with chill beats and lyrics about love. The video features very colourful imagery while Lil Boat sings to a woman about love and feelings.

While a little cheesy, it was definitely received well by fans who appreciated Yachty’s return to melodic music. Many compared the music video itself to that of “F**KING YOUNG” by Tyler, the Creator, and even had similarities to Tyler’s Flower Boy album as a whole. This is not surprising, considering Tyler and Yachty’s relationship and recent collaborations.

“All I ever heard was good things, good things about you and your ways”

Not only has Lil Yachty shown creativity and diversity in his sound, but he is also doing so in other ways. Along with new music releases, the Atlanta rapper has been busy with other interests.

He recently released his own line of nail polish made for men. He has promoted it as a way for men to express themselves while breaking the stigma around men expressing their femininity.

The new music video from him has shown that he is capable in more ways than one of expressing his creativity and breaking social norms.

We hope to see him do this in more ways in the future!

#FMSpotlight: Raquel Liane – “Work Hard, Pray Harder” (Listen)

Listen: Raquel Liane – “Work Hard, Pray Harder

New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Raquel Liane has officially dropped a new single today titled “Work Hard, Pray Harder.” The song seemingly comes in time for the summer as it possesses a lively afrobeat and jazz feel. In closing, the components of this record are bound to give you goosebumps.

Lyrically, the “Circles” songstress is open about the self-doubt she comes across at times while chasing her dream. Raquel Liane is tired of listening to others’ opinions and instead wants to follow her heart. The only thing she’s wary of is letting her loved ones down. Although the journey gets tricky at times, she’s all smiles.

Using an ethereal-like register, she sings with passion:

“Won’t disappoint my family that’s not an option/Emotions get the best of me it’s hard to stop them, ay/Tell me why I let people take control of how I live my life.”

The optimistic spirit she carries is also displayed through the song’s tempo: It’s light, peppy, and warm.

In the chorus, the songbird even says:

“I gotta know what’s best for me/It’s what I need to make my dreams come true/and I gotta work hard pray, pray harder.”

As the song continues, she admits to having days where she feels uninspired or discouraged. But, instead of sulking or giving up, she pushes through.

She lists what steps she’ll take to prosper in every area of her life. And she will do what’s ultimately best for her. By believing in herself, she creates her own destiny.

“I wish I had a crystal ball just to see things clearly/Maybe that would help me push harder mentally /I’ve lost track of that compass in my soul that’s meant to lead me back to that place where I call home/One small step, and I’m closer to the woman I know I can be/The answers all in me.”

Toward the end, Raquel Liane also concludes that she’ll give it all to God. By having faith, she’s confident that “the blessings will find their way in.

Raquel Liane

“Feeling uninspired still, I gotta keep praying/Even if I lose the game, know I gotta keep playing.”

“Work Hard, Pray Harder” resonates with those struggling to keep hope alive. Because of Raquel Liane’s outlook on life, “Work Hard, Pray Harder” sparks inspiration in everyone who takes a listen.
