The chatter surrounding Young Dolph’s fatal shooting is both alarming and inspirational. It is devastatingly unfortunate that death can be the light of a person’s life. Dolph was known as a rapper with club bangers and trap anthems. He is also a husband, father, and businessman. In retrospect, the nature of his death does no justice to what he accomplished behind the musical scope.
The positivity surfacing after this tragic time is enlightening to his legacy. Real estate broker and filmmaker Tim Jackson shared an Instagram in tribute to the late Memphis rapper. Unlike others, he shared that the esteemed rapper owned over 100 estate properties. He also purchased foreclosures for each of his children every year for their birthdays.
Damn! @youngdolph rarely rapped about his real estate portfolio but he owned over 100 properties in Memphis and he also purchased a foreclosure for his children every year for their birthdays. He told me this himself when we met. I admired this about him and even challenged him to rap more about this side of his hustle.
“The streets don’t love NOBODY,” Jackson continued. It’s sadly a true statement as many high-profile entertainers have perished in their hometowns. While many mourn over his portrayed lifestyle through his music, it is also important to commemorate the complete picture of his life behind the scenes.
Young Dolph’s contribution to society
Young Dolph led a humanitarian lifestyle. His contributions to Makeda’s Cookies will now have an even more significant effect than before. With their GoFundMe now reaching over 70k since his death, it is hopeful there will be a lasting future for Dolph’s favorite cookies. Read more on his fight to save Makeda’s Cookies.
Dolph’s labelmates kept his dream alive by continuing his annual turkey giveaway for Thanksgiving. Paper Route Empire moved forward with previous efforts because they knew that’s what he would’ve wanted. Memphis’ Fox13 News reported live from the event.
“We’re just representing Young Dolph and just keeping the legacy going. And getting people to know we’re going to do this every year,” said Snupe Bandz.
Dolph secured generational wealth for his family. Although wealth can not replace a father, his children have great footsteps to walk in.
