The recent Grammy nominee, Fivio Foreign, states that Beyoncé asked him to rewrite some of his bars. The “Naughty Girl” author instructed Fivio to modify the bars since he wished to sample one of her songs.
On Thursday morning (Apr 7), the artist explained at Hot 97 that he would need to clean up some lyrics for Beyoncé to grant Fivio the “Say My Name” sample.
Fivio Confirmed That Beyoncé Allowed To Use “Say My Name”
In addition, Fivio’s track, “What’s My Name,” features guest appearances from Coi Leray and Queen Naija. When asked whether Beyoncé had to consent to its use, Fivio revealed that she cleared the use of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.” However, only after the previous requirement was met.
“Shout-out Destiny’s Child, appreciate that they cleared that joint,” Fivio told the New York City radio hosts. “Yeah, she heard it. She had to hear it, you know what I’m sayin’. She made me… it was a little, it was a little vulgar, a little bit for her, at first…It was like, “Nah, you can’t be talking ’bout girls like that!””

Among “What’s My Name” producers are AayoAA, Bordeaux, and Non Native. Fivio Foreign’s debut studio album, “B.I.B.L.E.,” which dropped at midnight on Friday (Apr 8), contains this track.
Moreover, a bit of a change of pace from the gritty drill sound is often heard from the “City of Gods” spitter. The song also contains elements of the Destiny’s Child track’s catchy hook and guitar riff. In addition, XXL has contacted representatives for both Fivio Foreign and Beyoncé.
