50 CENT Plans To Produce A Hip-Hop Competition Show
The hip-hop world needs new faces to discover. 50 CENT plans to produce a hip-hop competition show. These new faces will compete against one another on the show, having the help of hip-hop stars as their mentors along the way. Executive produced by 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television company and SFO Entertainment, the show is in development with ABC.
“ I am excited to expand my relationship with ABC,” 50 CENT told Deadline.
The new show will also be made by Antonio Collier, Jon Sheinberg, Susie Ursitti Sheinberg, Gwen Osborne, and Matt Feige. People see it as the hip-hop world’s version of American Idol.
50 CENT’s Other Work
This is the latest TV project for the prolific musician and producer. 50 CENT is also developing Let Me Hear a Rhyme, based on Tiffany Jackson’s novel for Peacock, and has ordered a true crime anthology series for Discovery+, Confessions of a Crime Queen.
“Unrapped brings G-Unit Film and Television’s ability to put incredible music and musical talent on the screen to the competition space.”
Rival Shows
This show will not be the only competition show, as there is another one that is on NETFLIX. The show has ordered a second season of its own hip-hop competition format, Rhythm + Flow, which features judges Judges Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and Tip “T.I.” Harris as they searched for the next hip-hop star.
