Lil Durk Ends Howard University Show Early

Over the weekend, Howard University in Washington D.C. hosted its annual homecoming. The homecoming returned after being canceled last year due to COVID-19. Lil Durk headlined the event, but ditched the crowd halfway through his set, after he simply was not feeling their energy.

TikTok user @_quisee captured Durk before walking off the stage. Durk said, “Aye look, we was supposed to do more songs but this shit sound so bogus I don’t even feel this shit for real.” He then continued, “But I appreciate y’all for fucking with us one time in this muthafucka, man.”

The DJ attempted to pull the pieces together for the rest of the show.

Walkoffs due to a bad audience are not unheard of. In 2013, Fiona Apple had left a concert because the audience would not stay quiet and listen to her.

Lil Durk’s Big Year

The Howard University performance came after Durk wrapped up his “Back Outside Tour” with Lil Baby in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 15th. The duo made $15 million during the full run of the tour, which stopped in 23 cities around the U.S. In addition to Durk and Baby, Coi Leray, Rylo Rodriguez, and Bankroll Freddie performed on selected dates.

2021 has been a huge year for Durk. He’s continued dating his longtime partner India Royale. He also dropped a second collaboration with Drake on Certified Lover Boy, where he got Drake onboard promoting Royale’s cosmetics line. Durk celebrated 29th birthday, where he showed off a million dollars cash in front of his private jet. He starred in a new Beats by Dre commercial, and found massive musical success. He appeared on the Hot 100 37 times this year alone. Durk has been performing concerts almost daily since August. But it’s clear if the crowd isn’t right, the rapper’s not afraid to hit the road.
