For Mental Health Awareness Month, Big Sean is once again pouring into the culture.
Big Sean, real name “Sean Anderson”, and his mom Myra Anderson is announcing a new Wellness Series airing May 2021. The new venture will reportedly focus on low-cost and accessible approaches to mental health and wellness. This endeavor proves to be an absolute asset and a much-needed community resource.
However, the move is not unexpected. Sean is a veteran contributor to the community. The rapper’s philanthropy in the past is well-documented and is without bounds. He has extensive involvement in outreach, and has stood in support of at least eleven charities and foundations throughout his rap career.
Additionally, he began the Sean Anderson Foundation in 2012. The non-profit has received notable mention as contributors to COVID-19 relief, mental health support, and educational programs. As Sean and his mom continue to work tirelessly to pour out support for underprivileged youth in his hometown of Detroit.
With that said, the foundation is now presenting the Wellness Series. This series is available to the entire community, and will run throughout May on IGTV. If viewers are unable to watch on IGTV, all episodes will run on his foundation’s website. Additional segments will also include insights into sleep, meditation, diet, and exercise, amongst other relevant topics.
Lastly, it is clear that Big Sean has a heart for the culture…as his transparency and community outreach are more than refreshing. He not only uses his platform to contribute artistry to those less fortunate. But fully pours himself into the culture in every way possible. And his strides have not gone unrecognized. Truly, every effort he is contributing deserves big props!
The first episode will air this Saturday. Will you tune in?
