Shug Knight: Tupac Shakur Lives
Tupac Shakur is alive. Well, that’s what Suge Knight was saying without actually saying it when he spoke with respected journalist Soledad O’Brien, and former gangster rapper turned actor, Ice-T.
The conversation took place in the investigative documentary Who Shot Biggie & Tupac which aired on FOX Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017. Suge Knight shared his unproven theory with O’Brien and Ice-T in a phone call which took place from the confines of Los Angeles County Jail.
“When Pac died — I mean, if he really did, you know,” Knight recalled from the 1996 Las Vegas shooting. “When I left that hospital, me and Pac was laughing and joking. So I don’t see how somebody can turn from doing well to doing bad. I’m gonna tell you that with Pac, you never know.”
Well, I’m no doctor, but I do watch a lot of Grey’s Anatomy. And one thing I know for sure is that “things” can turn from good to “bad” in a heartbeat. In Tupac’s case, I believe things turned bad.
As I watched the documentary, I shared my questions, comments, and concerns on Twitter. Like, why didn’t Suge drive off the moment he heard shots fired? Then I thought to myself, was Suge in on the hit the entire time?
The documentary stopped that theory dead in its tracks with forensics, and sources reenacting the event.
To be honest, I didn’t learn anything new from the documentary. Let me take that back. I learned several things.
Tupac shot himself by “accident.”
I also learned that a Nina is short for a 9mm gun. Thanks for asking, Soledad. Thanks for clarifying, Ice-T.

[In my questionable William Shakespeare voice]
Tupac Shakur! Alive or not alive? Why is this even a question?
Suge, if you know where Tupac is, set him free.
Tupac, if you’re reading this please send an S.O.S. through the Ghost Whisperer.
Sincerely,
