Jaden Smith Has Found Another Way to Show Love for his Community
Jaden Smith has launched a new restaurant in Los Angeles. The restaurant, titled I Love You, serves vegan food to homeless people free of charge. The restaurant comes after Jaden created a food truck company under the same name that went around LA and New York in 2019, also giving free food to homeless people. The free food through the I Love You food truck was shut down when COVID hit. Despite this, it is clear Jaden has many plans to continue giving a reliable, healthy food source to underprivileged populations.
While everyone is welcome at I Love You, non-homeless diners are required to contribute to the restaurant’s costs. “It’s for homeless people to get free food,” Jaden told Variety. “But if you’re not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you.” Jaden is making moves to ensure everyone gets access to basic necessities, and non-homeless residents in the area can even contribute by simply dining there.
Jaden is Not New to Charitability
Along with the recent food truck, Jaden Smith’s past work involves making large contributions to Flint, Michigan. He provided multiple filtration boxes that gave residents of Flint access to clean water. Jaden has talked about how he uses his status and privilege to contribute to underprivileged communities. By giving access to clean water in Flint, MI, and providing healthy food to homeless populations, we see Jaden doing it!
