Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
That is the marketing ploy of Daniel Hernandez, aka 6ix9ine. It’s clear as day at this point, and it’s time we, the rap audience, become hip and move accordingly. Whenever 6ix9ine wants to garner any kind of attention or chatter, he then creates chaos by disrespecting another artist. He seemingly singles out an artist with more acclaim, momentum, or respect and then attempts to diss or discredit them and their work. He’s done this most recently with Lil Durk, Lil Reese, and Meek Mill. And now his most recent focus is on fellow New York rapper Cardi B.
The TattleTales rapper seemingly sent a shot aimed at Cardi with an Instagram poll in his stories. “If I took women to hotels, drugged them, and robbed them, would I be canceled?” it read. The question was about Cardi’s revelation of some practices from her days as a stripper. She admitted to drugging and robbing clients at nearby hotels. A time in her life which she’s stated she is not proud of.
Though 6ix9ine did not specifically call out Cardi by name, the line of questioning is clear enough, and now fans are wondered what prompted Hernandez to send these subliminal shots. Even though many fans and artists are growing more aware of 6ix9ine’s tactics and motivations, it’s still left to wonder why many choose to engage.
