Fans Maced at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2015 , Because…

Chaos erupted at Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam 2015 concert at MetLife stadium, in East Rutherford, N.J, on Sunday. Just after 7 p.m disturbance occurred outside the stadium when people began to jump fences to get into the concert and crowds became rowdy. State police dressed in riot gear used tear gas to disperse crowds.

It’s unclear as to why the chaos began but witnesses said that things escalated when ticket holders weren’t being let in and crowds began to push against the barricades. New Jersey State Police released a statement saying 61 people were arrested and 10 officers were injured.

The tens of thousands of fans inside the stadium had no idea what was happening outside as top hip hop artists including Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Future, Fabolous, and many more hit the stage.

Hot 97 said in a statement that those with tickets who weren’t able to enter the show will be offered a refund.
