Teyana Taylor recently released the music video for her song “STILL”, centered around social injustice, the tragic deaths of African Americans, and the “Black Lives Matter” Movement.

“STILL” is featured on her latest project The Album, which was released in June 2020 and set a new sound and standard for Teyana Taylor, as took on both roles of artist and video director.

“We are STILL emotional. We STILL keep fighting for love, justice. Yet we STILL keep losing our beautiful black lives,” wrote Teyana Taylor via her Instagram post.

The video utilized footage from recent events surrounding police brutality, as well as events that occurred during the “Civil Rights” movement and the “Black Lives Matter” movement such as footage was from Black Panther meetings/marches, Emmitt Till’s funeral, and the body cam footage from George Floyd’s death. The video also featured a list of the names of victims who wrongfully and viciously lost their lives due to police brutality.

“I shot this video a few months ago & it’s crazy how to this day our cry for love is STILL so relevant today and plans to be for a very long time smh! WE DEMAND CHANGE!!! There wasn’t one day I didn’t shed a tear. Smh This project means so much to me” said Teyana Taylor via Instagram.
