DaBaby Homophobic Comments
The 29-year-old rapper made headlines back in July for his homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. His behavior has led him to be a hot topic of the internet. He faced numerous criticisms from artists and people affected by his action. Furthermore, countless music festivals took him out of the lineups for neglecting to apologize. His anti-gay remarks caused controversial topics that led many do to disagree with the rapper’s behavior.
As a result, the artist came to terms with himself and apologized on Instagram. In his apology video, the rapper focuses on the importance of educating himself from his mistake and receiving the proper guidance.
Meanwhile, a day after his public apology, a group of 11 organizations sent out an open letter to the rapper offering to educate him on HIV/AIDS. The organizations hope to educate and help him gain factual information that he can share with his fans. During the meeting, the rapper took accountability for actions, offering apologies for how he went about the situation.
“Our goal was to ‘call him in instead of calling him out,'” the statement read. “We believed that if he connected with Black leaders living with HIV that a space for community building and healing could be created.”
From TMZ: “The CEO for Relationship Unleashed, Gwendolyn D. Clemons, tells TMZ … she and her cohorts at the nonprofit can comfortably sign off on DB’s appearance at Rolling Loud NY last week — and any future concerts — as they feel he’s learned a lot over the past few months.”
A few months later, the rapper is back on stage and performing for audiences. The artist was on stage as a special guest for Rolling Loud in New York. In the midst of the controversy and criticism, he has been receiving much support from many artists and fans after his fallout. Most importantly, he now has a mentor who plans to educate him about the industry and support him: 50 Cent.
