With a score of 118-107, the Milwaukee Bucks are seeing the NBA finals for the first time since 1974. After a vicious series against the Atlanta Hawks, their hard work pays off to the fullest. With a handful of games where one team dominated the other in the series, this one was by far one of the most enthralling.

In game 6 at Atlanta, it could have been anyone’s game. The Hawks have notoriously been upsetting teams in their home stadiums throughout the playoffs. Many thought they’d pull the same victory in Milwaukee in a seventh game. Knowing their tendency to feed off opposition, the Bucks gave the hawks a taste of their own medicine.
Having the lead for the entire game, the Bucks maintained good energy. Even when Atlanta got hot, they just upped the ante. With their star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, out with a bad knee injury from game 4, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday heroically stepped up. Middleton, known to really heat up in the second half, came through with 32 points. Holiday, who had a fairly inconsequential affect throughout the series, scored 27 points on the Hawks.

A salute to the villain
Arguably the most interesting player of this years playoffs is Hawks’ point guard, Trae Young. Charismatically taking road victories with glee and feeding off the hate, Young, at just age 22, is now a certified NBA superstar. Missing games 4 and 5 due to a bone bruise in his foot, he unfortunately couldn’t save the team in time during game 6. Young ended his year with only 14 points in the game. Of course, this is a poor reflection of just how much talent he’s demonstrated.

As the Bucks gear up to play the well rested Phoenix Suns tomorrow, expectations are all over the place! Each of the two teams have pulled off impressive victories under the most pressure that this finals will be anything but easy money. In the hopes of Giannis returning, this could be one of the most wild finals ever!
