The Suns get hotter and hotter!
In an aggressive back and forth series with the LA Clippers, the Phoenix Suns pulled off a glorious victory in game six in LA. The new Western Conference champions, they now eagerly await their first national championship since 1993.
The Suns have been a fan favorite throughout these playoffs. With such a lovable roster, it’s no wonder that so many hoop heads are cheering for them. Devin Booker continues to be one of the most likeable and talented young players in the league. Deandre Ayton is getting there too, putting in brilliant and reliable work in the paint. Even the rambunctious Jae Crowder has an enjoyable villain factor to him! However, it’s Chris Paul that really has fans engaged.
CP3’s first ring???
After 16 seasons of being one of the NBA’s greatest ever point guards, CP3 is now going to the national championship for the first time in his entire career. Those who have followed him throughout the years know that, regardless of how they feel about him, he deserves this chance as well as the ring itself. With some hit-or-miss games in this series against the Clippers, Paul used game six to show just how ready he is for the ring. Scoring a playoff career-high of 41/130 of the Suns’ points, Paul is here to dominate.
While it’s awesome to see the Suns take the dub, it’s hard to say goodbye to the Clippers, who proved excellence this season. With the great Kawhi Leonard injured, Paul George led the Clippers like an expert. With hustlers like Marcus Morris Sr. and Terance Mann, it’s wild to see them lose.
Two Clippers that have had major impact on the playoffs are Reggie Jackson and Patrick Beverley. Jackson has been a masterful guard, shooting just as well as he passes and coordinates. Beverley, a defensive beast, served as the antithesis to Devin Booker, constantly locking down the strongest offensive players. Unfortunately, he showed great weakness in his character, getting ejected for shoving CP3, an unceremonious end to his great work.
As the Suns await the Hawks and Bucks to finish their series, it looks like this national championship will be unlike any we’ve seen in awhile!
